The 2024–25 PBA Philippine Cup continued on Wednesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium with a pair of terrific games that went down the wire. Here’s what went down:

Rain or Shine Outlasts Blackwater in Tough Battle

The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters drew big games from Keith Datu and Adrian Nocum to outlast the Blackwater Bossing, 120-106, in what was a dogfight for most of the game.

Datu fired 27 big points, including 20 in the first half that kept Rain or Shine within striking distance of the hot-shooting Bossing. Nocum added 23, including six in a fiery 18-4 run by the Elasto Painters that turned a tight 102-tie into a runaway victory. Caelan Tiongson chipped in 14 as he returned from injury, while Andrei Caracut and Gian Mamuyac scored 11 apiece to help Rain or Shine recover from their loss to the Converge FiberXers.

Christian David led Blackwater with 28 points, including a long four-ball to end the first half. Sedrick Barefield added 23, while RK Ilagan had 16 for the Bossing, who went 15-for-25 overall in a searing second quarter that also saw them hit four triples.

NLEX Survives Ginebra Fight Back Behind Robert Bolick

Robert Bolick and Xyrus Torres hit crucial triples late to power the NLEX Road Warriors to an 89-86 triumph over Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.

Bolick controlled the game for NLEX, dropping 28 points on top of 6 rebounds and 4 assists in an all-around showing. He also hit a huge triple that tied the game at 84 after Ginebra moved ahead despite trailing by as much as 18 in the third. Torres added 11, including a booming trey that gave the Road Warriors the lead back at 87-86.

Stephen Holt topscored for Ginebra with 21 points, 18 of which came in the fourth quarter as he led the barangay’s fight back. Scottie Thompson added 20 markers, including a pair of baskets that staked Ginebra to its endgame lead. But NLEX’s back-to-back treys doused cold water on the crowd darlings’ red-hot fourth quarter and sent the Road Warriors to their fourth straight win.

The scores:

NLEX (89) – Bolick 28, Torres 11, Ramirez 11, Alas 10, Mocon 8, Bahio 6, Semerad 6, Fajardo 5, Rodger 2, Policarpio 2, Nieto 0
