The 2024–25 PVL All-Filipino Conference continued Thursday with a pair of dominant sweeps at the PhilSports Arena. Here’s a recap of the action:
Creamline Dominates Chery Tiggo, Stays Unbeaten
Taken to the limit by the Cignal HD Spikers in their last match, the Creamline Cool Smashers made sure there would be no five-setters this time around, sweeping the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, 25-17, 25-17, 25-21, in just under 90 minutes to stay unbeaten in the 2024–25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Creamline once again relied on its superior depth, with Jema Galanza firing 9 points, Pangs Panaga and Tots Carlos contributing 8 points each, and Alyssa Valdez scoring 7. Bernadeth Pons, who torched Cignal with 27 points played only the first set and finished with 5 points.
Ara Galang tried to carry the fight for the undermanned Crossovers with 14 markers but found little support.
With the win, the Cool Smashers regained solo first place with an 8-0 record. Chery Tiggo dropped to an even 5-5 slate for sixth place.

Cignal Sweeps Capital1 in Show of Depth, Resilience
The Cignal HD Spikers, fresh off a heartbreaking five-set loss to Creamline, showed their resilience and depth against the Capital1 Solar Spikers, notching a dominant 25-12, 25-15, 25-17 win to bounce back from that sorry defeat a few days earlier.
Judith Abil delivered 13 points on 10 powerful attacks to lead Cignal’s strong connection. Ishie Lalongisip scored 13 as well, while Rose Doria-Aquino and Jacqueline Acuña put up 11 and 9 markers, respectively. The HD Spikers’ team effort helped make up for Vanie Gandler’s rather quiet night of 7 points.
Trisha Genesis and Leila Cruz fired 6 points apiece for Capital1 but found little support offensively and defensively.
With the win, the HD Spikers hiked their record to 6-3 for third place at the standings. The Solar Spikers dropped to 1-8—just a win ahead of the winless Nxled Chameleons.
