The 2024–25 PVL All-Filipino Conference continued on Thursday at the PhilSports Arena with four more teams playing their final game in the preliminaries. Here’s a recap of the action:
Creamline Sweeps Galeries, Gets First Seed
The Creamline Cool Smashers will head on to the Qualifying Round as the top seed after handling the Galeries Tower Highrisers, 25-15, 26-24, 25-19, behind the heroics of former MVPs Alyssa Valdez and Tots Carlos.
Carlos topscored with a game-high 18 points, while Valdez fired a conference-high 16 for the Cool Smashers, who found themselves trailing 19-11 in the second set as the Highrisers looked to stun the 10-time champs. But Carlos and Valdez scored four unanswered to lead a Creamline fightback to ultimately win the set, 26-24. The Cool Smashers then slammed the door on Galeries in the third set to secure the match.
Roselle Baliton led the way for Galeries with 10 markers, France Ronquillo and Ysa Jimenez adding 6 apiece.
With their sweep of Galeries, the Cool Smashers finished the preliminaries with 10-1 record and the top seed. The Highrisers dropped to 1-10 to finish at the bottom three. They will be the 10th seed with superior set points over the Nxled Chameleons and Capital1 Solar Spikers.

Petro Gazz Routs Nxled, Sets Up Showdown with Capital1
The Petro Gazz Angels made quick work of the Nxled Chameleons in the main game, sweeping the young squad, 25-19, 25-14, 25-17, in a dominant display of offense and defense.
Brooke Van Sickle, MJ Phillips, and Aiza Pontillas spearheaded the Angels’ vengeful showing, with Van Sickle firing 17 points, Phillips putting up 14, and Pontillas adding 7. Myla Pablo, who finished the game with a kill, chipped in 9 as she continued her superb showing this conference.
Lyca Ebon led the way for the Chameleons with 12 points, while Chiara Permentilla added 9.
The win was the Angels’ ninth straight victory this conference. They will finish with a 10-1 record in the preliminaries—same as Creamline’s—but will wind up as the second seed because of an inferior set win ratio. Nxled will finish as the 12th seed with its 1-10 record.
