The Play-ins of the 2024–25 PVL All-Filipino Conference continued on Tuesday with a double-header at the PhilSports Arena. Here’s a recap of the action:
Chery Tiggo Turns Back Farm Fresh, Advances to Quarterfinals
The Chery Tiggo Crossovers survived a thrilling challenge from the Farm Fresh Foxies, securing a 29-27, 15-25, 25-22, 25-21victory to advance to the Quarterfinals of the 2024–25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
The Crossovers leaned on their experience and composure in the tightest moments, fending off a determined Foxies squad that refused to back down. Despite dropping the second set, Chery Tiggo responded with a strong finish, sealing the match with clutch plays in the fourth set to punch their ticket to the next round.
Ara Galang led the way for Chery Tiggo with a team-high 20 points, followed by 18 from Shaya Adorador and 13 from Cess Robles. Middle blockers Seth Rodriguez and Aby Maraño also came up big, combining for 12 points to help the Crossovers stave off the Foxies’ repeated challenge.
Trisha Tubu exploded for 22 markers to spearhead the Farm Fresh attack, with Lorene Toring, Rizza Cruz, and Jolina Dela Cruz all adding 12 apiece. Despite this great production, the Foxies just couldn’t break through, faltering in crucial stretches to surrender the victory.

Zus Coffee Stuns Cignal, Inches Closer to Quarterfinals
The Zus Coffee Thunderbelles are on the verge of a historic Quarterfinals appearance after they pulled off a stunning upset against the Cignal HD Spikers in a grueling 19-25, 25-23, 25-20, 23-25, 15-12 five-set thriller.
The PVL newcomers displayed remarkable poise under pressure, fending off a furious Cignal rally after surrendering a two-set lead. With the match on the line, Zus Coffee delivered in the clutch, capitalizing on key defensive stops and crucial offensive plays to seal the victory.
Chai Troncoso’s 21 points proved to be a huge difference-maker in bringing down her former team. But she also got plenty of support, with Thea Gagate putting up 16 points, Michelle Gamit adding 13, and Jovelyn Gonzaga chipping in 8 while displaying her calm leadership.
Vanie Gandler kept Cignal in the match with a 23-point explosion. Ishie Laongisip and Jackie Acuña provided additional firepower for the HD Spikers with 16 and 12, respectively. Their efforts, though, were not enough to dig Cignal out of the early 2-0 hole they found themselves in.

2024–25 PVL All-Filipino Conference: The Play-Ins Continue
The 2024–25 PVL All-Filipino Conference Play-ins will continue on Thursday, March 13, at the PhilSports Arena. Farm Fresh takes on Nxled in the first game, with Zus Coffee facing off against Capital1 in the second game.
With Chery Tiggo’s win, the Farm Fresh-Nxled match has been reduced to a mere battle for pride. The Zus Coffee vs. Capital1 encounter, meanwhile, will determine which of Cignal and Zus will advance to the Quarterfinals.
