The Qualifying Round of the 2024–25 PVL All-Filipino Conference continued on Saturday, with another double-header, also at the PhilSports Arena. Here’s a recap of the action:
Petro Gazz Sweeps Capital1 for 10 Straight Wins
The 2nd-seeded Petro Gazz Angels proved a class above the 11th-seeded Capital1 Solar Spikers, handling business with a 25-19, 25-23, 25-20 sweep to barge into the quarterfinals outright.
Brooke Van Sickle fired a team-high 19 points with 14 excellent digs, while Myla Pablo continued her superb conference by adding 17 big points. MJ Phillips and Aiza Pontillas chipped in 12 and 9, respectively, to help the Angels fend off the Solar Spikers’ gallant stand.
Leila Cruz paced a determined Capital1 squad with her team-high 16 points. However, only Jorelle Singh got to double-digits with her 10 points as she and Cruz’s efforts proved futile without the lack of firepower supper from the rest of the Solar Spikers. Their 15 unforced errors also proved costly, with Cruz’s service error at 23-20 in the third setting ending up to be the proverbial nail in the coffin.
With the win, Petro Gazz joins the Creamline Cool Smashers and Galeries Tower Highrisers in the quarterfinals. Capital1, meanwhile, drops to the play-ins with the Cignal HD Spikers and Nxled Chameleons.

Dindin Manabat also played big for the Flying Titans with 13 markers, while Lorraine Pecana, Cherry Nunag, Isa Molde, Des Cheng, and Royse Tubino combined for 22 more.
