When and How Will the 2025 PVL Draft Unfold?
The 2025 PVL Draft combine will be on May 30 to 31, before the final draft on June 8. Capital1 Solar Spikers got the 1st pick, followed by the Galeries Tower Highrisers, Farm Fresh Foxies, and Nxled Chameleons.
Zus Coffee Thunderbelles will be the fifth team to pick, followed by the Cignal HD Spikers, Choco Mucho Flying Titans, Cherry Tiggo Crossovers, PLDT High Speed Hitters, and the Akari Chargers.
2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference champions Petro Gazz Angels will be the 11th team to pick, followed by the 2024 PVL Season grand slam champions Creamline Cool Smashers.
Will Three-time UAAP MVP Bella Belen Join PVL?
Three-time UAAP MVP Bella Belen from the National University entered the 2025 PVL Draft despite waiting for international offers to push through.
According to Belen, her entry to the Philippines’ professional volleyball league is still uncertain as they await offers from countries like Thailand or Japan, where Filipino volleyball players have played.
“Hindi pa po [final] kasi pwede pa po mag-withdraw. After combine pa po malalaman kung magpapa-draft,” she said in the program Power and Play.
Which notable UAAP players are joining the 2025 PVL Draft?
Among those making the leap from the UAAP to the 2025 PVL Draft are Bella Belen, Sheena Toring, Alleiah Malaluan, Pia Abbu, AC Miner, Mayang Nuique, Lyann de Guzman, Jean Asis, Nica Celis, Erin Pangilinan, Chenie Tagaod, Baby Jyne Soreno, and Riza Nogales.
Here’s a closer look at each of them.
Bella Belen from National University

The consensus top pick for this year’s PVL Draft, three-time UAAP MVP Bella Belen of the National University, registered her name despite waiting for international offers to push through.
In the UAAP, Belen was the first-ever Rookie of the Year and MVP in the women’s division, a feat she did in Season 84, where she was also named 1st Best Outside Hitter. Belen also won the MVP and 1st Best Outside Hitter in Seasons 86 and 87.
In her last UAAP season, Belen was the fourth-best scorer with 246 points in 199 attacks, 17 blocks, and 30 aces; best spiker with 37.76% efficiency; best server after averaging 0.57 aces per set; fifth-best digger with 2.79 excellent digs per set; and third-best receiver with 44.44% efficiency.
Sheena Toring from National University
National University Lady Bulldogs middle blocker Sheena Toring was one of the key figures in the school’s dominance from the juniors to the collegiate divisions.
In Season 84, Toring was awarded as the 2nd Best Middle Blocker. In Season 78, she took home the 1st Best Middle Blocker in the juniors division.
Alleiah Malaluan from De La Salle University
In Season 87, De La Salle University Lady Spikers outside hitter Alleiah Malaluan finished with 107 points in 87 attacks, 10 blocks, and 10 aces.
Malaluan won the 2nd Best Outside Spiker and Best Server in UAAP Season 87 Girls’ Volleyball Tournament.
Pia Abbu from the University of Santo Tomas

University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses lost one of their middle blockers as Pia Abbu declared for the 2025 PVL Draft. In her last UAAP Season, Abbu scored a total of 80 points in 54 attacks, 22 blocks, and four aces.
In UAAP Season 82, Abbu was the 2nd-best middle Blocker in the juniors division.
AC Miner from the Ateneo de Manila University
In her last season with the Ateneo de Manila University Blues Eagles, AC Miner finished as the eighth-best scorer with 198 points in 172 attacks, 21 blocks, and five aces.
In the juniors division, Miner won the 2nd Best Middle Blocker award in Seasons 80 and 81, and the 1st Best Middle Blocker in Season 82. In Season 87, Miner was the sixth-best spiker with 35.39% efficiency.
Mayang Nuique from Adamson University
In the rookie-laden Adamson University Lady Falcons, senior Mayang Nuique guided in Season 87. In her last season, Nuique scored 92 points in 74 attacks, 14 blocks, and four aces.
In the juniors division, Nuique won the 1st Best Middle Blocker award in Season 81.
Lyann de Guzman from the Ateneo de Manila University

Lyann de Guzman was the team captain of the Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles in UAAP Season 87. In her last UAAP season, de Guzman finished as the ninth-best scorer with 187 points in 171 attacks, six blocks, and 10 aces.
Jean Asis from Far Eastern University
Jean Asis bid farewell to the Far Eastern University community as she joined the draft. In her last UAAP Season, Asis recorded 118 points in 90 attacks, 17 blocks, and 11 aces.
Nica Celis of the University of the Philippines
University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons team captain Nica Celis led the team to a fifth-place finish in UAAP Season 87, an improvement from their 1-13 record in the previous seasons.
Erin Pangilinan from National University
Erin Pangilinan was part of the National University Lady Bulldogs dynasty that won multiple championships in the juniors and seniors divisions. In Season 87, Pangilinan finished with 111 points in 78 attacks, 24 blocks, and nine aces.
Chenie Tagaod from Far Eastern University
Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws outside hitter Chenie Tagaod finished UAAP Season 87 with 122 points in 106 attacks, nine blocks, and seven aces. Tagaod was also the ninth-best receiver with 36.64% efficiency.
Baby Jyne Soreno from De La Salle University
In her last season in the UAAP, Baby Jyne Soreno scored 35 points in 30 attacks, two blocks, and three aces as she played backup opposite spiker for the De La Salle University Lady Spikers.
Riza Nogales from the University of the East
In UAAP Season 87, University of the East Lady Red Warriors middle blocker Riza Nogales scored 90 points in 44 attacks, 45 blocks, and an ace. She also finished as the best blocker after averaging 0.92 blocks per set.
