The 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference continued on Thursday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. This gameday saw one team—the Akari Chargers—firm up their quarterfinals hopes and another—the Creamline Cool Smashers—book their seat there after a tough start to the tournament.
Akari Overpowers Nxled, Firms Up Bid for Quarters
The Akari Chargers firmed up their bid for a slot in the quarterfinals on Thursday with a thorough 25-13, 25-17, 25-22 dismantling of sister team Nxled Chameleons.
Import Annie Mitchem led the charge, firing 20 big points for the Chargers, who outgunned the Chameleons 48-26 in attacks and 3-0 in blocks. Grethcel Soltones added 12, while Ced Domingo, Eli Soyud, and Camille Victoria combined for 20. At the heart of this stellar offense was setter Mars Alba, who came away with 21 excellent sets and 3 points of her own.
Reinforcement Paola Martinez and Chiara Permentilla each had 10 to pace Nxled. But no other Chameleon scored more than 2 points to typify the team’s struggles.

Creamline Blanks Choco Mucho, Secures QF Spot
The Creamline Cool Smashers are through to the quarterfinals after blanking sister team Choco Mucho 25-17, 25-17, 25-23 in a show of force as the playoffs loom.
Coco Schwan paced Creamline with 15 points, followed by 9 from Michele Gumabao. Tots Carlos, Pangs Panaga, Sheen Toring, Alyssa Valdez, and Lorie Bernardo provided additional firepower with a combined 24 points, while Kyle Negrito orchestrated the offense with 18 excellent sets.
sa Molde had 11 as the lone bright spot for the Flying Titans, who officially bowed out of the tournament after their fifth loss in seven matches. Import Marlee Smith struggled anew as she finished with just 5 points.

The PVL Reinforced Conference continues the road to the quarters with a triple-bill on Saturday at the Ynares Center in Montalban. The Farm Fresh Foxies will take on the Galeries Tower Highrisers to open the action, followed by the PLDT High Speed Hitters facing off against the Chery Tiggo Crossovers. The nightcap will be a battle between the Capital1 Solar Spikers and Petro Gazz Angels.
