2025 PVL Reinforced Conference: Akari Sweeps Galeries, Zus Coffee Stuns Petro Gazz, Creamline Turns Back Chery Tiggo

The PVL Reinforced Conference took the action to the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan on Tuesday, with the Akari Chargers taking on the Galeries Tower Highrisers in the first match, the Zus Coffee Thunderbelles facing off with the Petro Gazz Angels in the second match, and the Creamline Cool Smashers going up against the Chery Tiggo Crossovers.

Akari Sweeps Galeries for Big Bounce-Back Win

The Akari Chargers rebounded from their first loss of the tournament with a 25-11, 25-23, 25-23 sweep of the Galeries Tower Highrisers.

Annie Mitchem led the charge with 14 points anchored on 10 attacks and 4 kill blocks, while Eli Soyud had 14 markers of her own on 8 attacks, 3 aces, and 1 block. Grethcel Soltones added 9, and Fifi Sharma chipped in 8.

Jelena Cvijovic put up 10 points with 7 excellent receptions for Galeries, who gave a gallant stand even with the sweep. Jean Asis and France Ronquillo chipped in 9 markers apiece.

Zus Coffee Stuns Petro Gazz, Remains Unbeaten

The Zus Coffee Thunderbelles are serving notice to the PVL. On Tuesday, they made it four wins in a row to start the conference, blanking the veteran-laden Petro Gazz Angels, 25-22, 25-21, 25-20, to win their fourth in a row this conference.

Anna DeBeer was prolific once more, firing 23 points in the surprising sweep, including the final two kills to put away the match. AC Miner continued showing out as well, finishing with 11 markers anchored on 2 blocks and 1 ace to notch Player of the Game honors. Veteran Jovelyn Gonzaga added 9 points and a whole lot of poise for the unbeaten Thunderbelles.

Lindsey Vander Weide and Brooke Van Sickle finished with 17 and 12 points, respectively, for the 3-2 Angels. Myla Pablo and MJ Phillips added 10 and 9 markers, respectively.

Creamline Turns Back Chery Tiggo

The Creamline Cool Smashers are back to their winning ways, turning back the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, 23-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-17, to keep their Top 3 hopes alive in Pool B.

Coco Schwan powered through with 29 points on 25 attacks to lead Creamline. Pangs Panaga, meanwhile, was a formidable presence in the middle, finishing with 16 markers on 5 rejections. Tots Carlos added 17 points, while Kyle Negrito orchestrated the offense masterfully with 29 excellent sets.

Yuni Batista top-scored for the Crossovers with 22 points, while Cess Robles and Mylene Paat chipped in 11 and 10, respectively.
