The 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference continued with Phase 2 of the preliminary round on Saturday with a doubleheader at Candon City Arena. The twin bill saw two teams—PLDT High Speed Hitters and Zus Coffee Thunderbelles—clinch quarterfinals entry with victories over the Galeries Tower Highrisers and Choco Mucho Flying Titans, respectively. Notably, proceeds from ticket sales for this doubleheader will be donated to typhoon victims.

PLDT Subdues Galeries Despite Second-Set Hiccup

Even at less-than-stellar form, the PLDT High Speed Hitters still managed to subdue the Galeries Tower Highrisers, 25-19, 19-25, 25-16, 25-21, to assure themselves of a quarterfinals slot.

Galeries gave a valiant stand but were still no match against the High Speed Hitters, who once more drew big games from import Anastasiia Bavykina, who fired a game-high 22 points, and import-like local Savi Davison, who finished with 21. PLDT also had a block party to complement that explosive offense, recording 15 kill blocks to the Highrisers’ 5. Kim Dy, who had 12 points, and Majoy Baron, who scattered 10, led that imposing defense along with Kath Arado’s dynamic floor work.

Import Jelena Cvijovic and France Ronquillo led Galeries with 15 markers apiece, followed by 13 from Julia Coronel.

Zus Coffee Dismantles Choco Mucho to Continue Unbeaten Run

The Zus Coffee Thunderbelles continue to be unbeaten, pulling out a 25-20, 25-22, 24-26, 25-19 triumph over the Choco Mucho Flying Titans for their sixth straight victory this conference and safe passage to the quarterfinals.

Import Anna DeBeer led the way for Zus Coffee with 20 but got plenty of help as four other Thunderbelles finished in double digits led by Chinnie Arroyo and Riza Nogales, who both had 11. Jovelyn Gonzales and Renee Mabilangan added 10 apiece.

Maddie Madayag carried Choco Mucho with 18 markers on 10 kill blocks, while Des Cheng and Isa Molde chipped in 12 and 11, respectively. However, import Marlee Smith was limited to just 7.
