Team captain Jia De Guzman, opposite spiker Alyssa Solomon, and middle blocker Thea Gagate returned to the 2025 SEA Women’s V.League to improve their ranking or defend their bronze medals in the first league in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.

In the 2024 SEA Women’s V.League, D Guzman was awarded as the best setter and Gagate as one of the best middle blockers in the first week of the competition held in Vinh Phuc in Vietnam. In the second week, Alyssa Solomon won the best opposite spiker award.

Completing the Alas Pilipinas roster are Eya Laure, Bella Belen, Angel Canino, Shaina Nitura, Vanie Gandler, Clarisse Loresco, Leila Cruz, Fifi Sharma, Dell Palomata, Maddie Madayag, Mars Alba, Dawn Macandili, and Justine Jazareno.

In both weeks of the 2024 edition, Alas Pilipinas settled for bronze as Thailand took home the gold medals while Vietnam were the silver-medalists. Meanwhile, Indonesia continued to slide down as it settled for fourth place for the first time.

The lineup of Alas Pilipinas in the upcoming 2025 SEA Women’s V.League:

Outside Spikers: Belen, Canino, Gadler, Laure, Nitura

Bella Belen, Angel Canino, Vanie Gandler, Eya Laure, and Shaina Nitura reunite in the 2025 SEA Women’s V.League. The five shared the position in the historic performance of the team in the 2025 AVC Women’s Volleyball Nations Cup in Hanoi.

Belen, Gandler, and Laure were part of the teams that won the bronze medals in last year’s Women’s SEA V.League. This year would be the first experience of Canino and Nitura in the regional league.

Middle Blockers: Gagate, Madayag, Palomata, Sharma

Thea Gagate, who was hailed as one of the best middle blockers in the first leg of the 2024 SEA Women’s V.League, led the defense of Alas Pilipinas alongside Maddie Madayag, Dell Palomata, and Fifi Sharma.

Gagate, Palomata, and Sharma were part of the team that won the bronze medals in last year’s editions. Madayag also returns to the tournament after being part of the team that won bronze medals in the inaugural season of the SEA V.League, which was known as the ASEAN Grand Prix in 2019.

Opposite Spikers: Cruz, Loresco, Solomon

The trio of Leila Cruz, Clarisse Loresco, and Alyssa Solomon will be back on national team duties after playing together in the 2025 AVC Women’s Volleyball Nations Cup. Solomon won the Best Opposite Spiker award in the second week of last year’s edition.

Cruz was the main opposite spiker of Alas Pilipinas in the VTV International Women’s Cup when Solomon begged off to recover.

Setters: De Guzman, Alba

National team mainstay Jia De Guzman once again orchestrates the offense of Alas Pilipinas alongside backup setter Mars Alba. De Guzman was awarded the best setter in the first leg of last year’s SEA Women’s V.League. She also got the same award for the 2024 and the 2025 editions of the AVC Women’s Volleyball Nations Cup.

On the other hand, Alba also has multiple best setter awards under her belt, especially when playing with the De La Salle University Lady Spikers in the UAAP.

Liberos: Catindig, Jazareno

De La Salle University Lady Spikers alumnae Dawn Macandili Catindig and Justine Jazareno will be the backbone of the defense of Alas Pilipinas. The two first shared the role in the 2025 VTV Women’s Volleyball Cup as they shared the digging and receiving duties.

Catindig was part of the Alas Pilipinas team that won the bronze medals in last year’s edition, while Jazareno will be making her debut in the league.
