Following the signing of middle blocker Imee Hernandez, Strong Group Athletics (SGA) continued to reinforce its Premier Volleyball League (PVL) rosters by securing the services of hitters Ara Galang and Mylene Paat, who previously suited up for the now-defunct Chery Tiggo Crossovers.
Galang, a La Salle product and one of the Philippines’ most recognizable volleyball performers, brings not only scoring firepower but also veteran leadership to the SGA program. Her decorated résumé, highlighted by MVP honors and championship experience at both the collegiate and professional levels, makes her one of the most coveted local signings of the offseason.
Paat, meanwhile, is a proven opposite hitter with international experience and a strong track record in the PVL. Her arrival further boosts SGA’s offensive versatility and firepower, underscoring the organization’s ambition to compete at the league’s highest level.
Where to, Ara Galang and Mylene Paat? Farm Fresh or Zus?
Strong Group Athletics owns and operates two PVL teams—the Farm Fresh Foxies and the Zus Coffee Thunderbelles—giving the organization flexibility in talent distribution. Based on the current composition of both rosters, Galang and Paat appear to be a stronger fit with the Foxies, where they could provide additional scoring support and help ease the offensive load on opposite hitter Trisha Tubu.
The arrivals of Galang and Paat also coincide with the departure of four players from Zus Coffee. Libero Julia Angeles, along with Sharya Ancheta, Gayle Pascual, and Dolly Verzosa, have all parted ways with the team ahead of the season opener, marking the end of their respective tenures with the organization.
Angeles, known for her defensive consistency, headlines the list of outgoing players as SGA resets its roster structure. Ancheta and Pascual—both contributors during previous conferences—along with versatile outside hitter Verzosa, also exit as part of the Thunderbelles’ ongoing retooling.
