As the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference gets underway, the spotlight shifts from headline signings to the moves that could quietly but significantly shape the title race. While some teams made sweeping changes in the offseason, others opted for targeted additions aimed at strengthening depth, refining systems, and addressing specific gaps exposed in the previous conference.
Part 2 of this series takes a closer look at the teams that chose calculated reinforcements over full-scale rebuilds. From coaching continuity and tactical tweaks to key role players brought in to elevate already competitive rosters, these additions could spell the difference between an early exit and a deep playoff run.
Before the matches begin to pile up, here’s a breakdown of who’s in, and how ready they are, as the league’s top teams prepare to set the tone for the 2026 PVL season.
ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles
Who’s In: Princess Robles, Karen Verdefor, Renee Peñafiel, Chie Saet, Rachel Anne Daquis
Arguably one of the most intriguing teams heading into the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference, the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles capture attention with a blend of talent and nostalgia.
The centerpiece of their roster is the reunion of prolific attackers Rachel Anne Daquis and Jovelyn Gonzaga, former teammates during their dominant run with the Philippine Army Lady Troopers in the Shakey’s V-League era. While Gonzaga’s official status remains closely watched, the familiarity and chemistry between the two, if fully realized, could give ZUS Coffee one of the league’s most dangerous offensive pairings.
Coupled with the steady presence of veteran setter Chie Saet, the Thunderbelles possess a balance of experience and firepower capable of challenging more established contenders. ZUS Coffee may not enter as favorites, but they are undeniably a team no one will want to face early in the conference.
PLDT High Speed Hitters
Who’s In: Seth Rodriguez
PLDT made a relatively quiet move this offseason, but one that could prove valuable over the course of a long conference. The addition of Seth Rodriguez adds depth to the High Speed Hitters’ rotation and gives the coaching staff another option in fine-tuning their system.
While PLDT retains much of its established core, Rodriguez’s presence could help address matchup concerns and provide additional stability, particularly in tight situations. For a team looking to convert potential into consistent results, even subtle roster upgrades can make a meaningful difference.

Choco Mucho Flying Titans
Who’s In: Eya Laure, Caitlyn Viray, Alina Bicar, Jaila Atienza
Already a perennial contender, Choco Mucho chose to strengthen an already deep roster rather than overhaul it. Headlining their additions is Eya Laure, whose arrival and return to the league add another dynamic scoring option capable of creating offense both in transition and within the system.
The Flying Titans also bolstered their depth with the return of Caitlyn Viray, Alina Bicar, and Jaila Atienza, providing greater flexibility across multiple positions. These additions not only offer insurance against injuries but also allow Choco Mucho to sustain intensity throughout long, grinding matches.
With these reinforcements, along with the return of Sisi Rondina, the Flying Titans appear even more equipped to mount another serious title push.
Akari Chargers
Who’s In: Baby Jyne Soreño, Cza Carandang, Judith Abil, Mary Rhose Dapol
The Akari Chargers finished seventh after the elimination round of the 2024–25 PVL All-Filipino Conference but caught fire when it mattered most. Their strong playoff surge culminated in a bronze medal finish, highlighting the team’s resilience and ability to adapt under pressure.
Heading into 2026, Akari enters a new chapter under the guidance of Tina Salak, whose system emphasizes discipline, structure, and efficiency. With much of their core intact, the Chargers benefit from continuity while also incorporating tactical refinements.
Given their recent success and roster stability, Akari is widely expected to remain among the league’s top contenders. Another top-three finish is well within reach if the team quickly settles into Salak’s system.

Creamline Cool Smashers
Who’s In: Jennifer Nierva, Donna Paralejas
Even with multiple PVL championships to their name, the Creamline Cool Smashers continue to find ways to reinforce their dominance. The additions of Jennifer Nierva and Donna Paralejas further deepen an already stacked roster.
Nierva’s defensive instincts and Paralejas’ versatility give Creamline even more lineup flexibility, allowing the coaching staff to make seamless adjustments based on matchups and game situations. These moves underscore Creamline’s commitment to staying ahead of the curve rather than resting on past success.
As the reigning standard of excellence in the PVL, the Cool Smashers once again enter the All-Filipino Conference as the team everyone is chasing.
