2025 SEA Women’s V. League – Leg 2: Alas Pilipinas Finishes Bronze Anew; Vietnam Detrones Thailand for Gold

For the fourth straight time, Alas Pilipinas settled for bronze once again in the second leg of the 2025 SEA Women’s V.League held in Ninh Binh in Vietnam, from August 8 to 10.

Alas Pilipinas suffered a straight-set defeat against Vietnam in their opening match, 14-25, 28-30, 22-25. In their next game, Alas Pilipinas managed to snatch a set against Thailand but ultimately faltered, losing 22-25, 17-25, 26-24, 15-25.

In their last game against Indonesia, Alas Pilipinas finally won the match to secure the bronze medal for the fourth straight time, 25-17, 25-17, 28-26.

Meanwhile, host country Vietnam successfully captured the crown and dethroned eight-time champion Thailand, 17-25, 24-26, 25-17, 25-22, 16-14. Vietnam also defeated Indonesia, 25-20, 25-19, 25-20 en route to the championship.

Before losing their match against Vietnam, Thailand first defeated Indonesia, 25-16, 25-16, 25-21, in their first match of the tournament. Meanwhile, Indonesia finished the tournament without a win.
