September 15 2025 – Gold Medal Match: Germany vs Turkey

The championship match began with Turkey up by 8 points, 13 – 5 in the 1st quarter. Germany then tied the game, 30, all in the 2nd. From then on, it was a close and back-and-forth 2nd half. 

Isaac Bonga was the X Factor for Germany. And in the last 20 seconds of the 4th quarter, Dennis Schroeder drains a mid-range to go up, 86 – 83. Sengun misses the 3-pointer on the other end. Dennis gets fouled and sinks in the 2 clutch free throws to go up by 5 and seal the game.

Germany won their 2nd gold in the history of EuroBasket since 1993 with Schroeder ending the game with 16 points, 12 assists, Franz Wagner with 18 points and 8 boards, while Bonga was the best player of the finals with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists

Alperen Sengun goes for 28 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 blocks and Cedi Osman played every minute in the finals (40) to finish with 23 points and 5 boards.

Schroder is given the MVP award for the tournament as the German finishes the EuroBasket 2025 unbeaten, going for a 9-0 record.

September 14 2025 – Bronze Medal Match: Greece vs Finland

It was an epic bronze medal match between Greece of Giannis and Finland of Markkanen. The game was close until Hellas went up by 10 before halftime and in the middle of the 3rd. The lead suddenly ballooned up until the last 3 mins of the 4th quarter, 84 – 67. But this is when the Wolves went on a run to come back to the game.

Finland cuts the lead 86 – 82 with a minute to go. All of a sudden, the last 20 seconds of the ball game became a free-throw shooting contest. Elias Voltanen got fouled taking a 3-pointer with 5.7 to go, with Finland down 90 – 87. 

He makes the first two but misses on the third. Mikael Jantunen misses the putback shot, and Giannis holds the board, gets fouled 4 secs to go, and sinks in the 2 free throws, Greece still up 92 – 89. Jantunen attempts a half-court shot and misses it.

Greece gets the podium finish for the 1st time since 2009, Antetokounmpo went for 30 points, 17 rebounds, 6 assists, a steal and 2 blocks.

September 13 2025 – Semifinals: Turkey vs Greece

Early in the ball game, Erican Osmani made his presence felt with his outside shooting. While Hellas continuously drove to the basket for an easy 2 points, Sengun and company answered it with 3 pointers and midrange shots. From the 2nd quarter onwards, it was all Turkey until the end. Despite Giannis finishing the game with 12 points, 12 boards, 5 assists, and 2 blocked shots, it wasn’t enough at all. 

Osmani was named the Best Player of the game with team high 28 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and a block as Turkey reached the Finals for the 1st time since 2001.

September 12 2025 – Semifinals: Germany vs Finland

With the “Cinderella run” of Finland, Franz Wagner and company took them seriously. Midway to the 2nd quarter, the Germans did manage to somehow pull away with a double-digit lead. In the 3rd frame, the Wolves inch close to the match, cutting the lead into single digits multiple times and at one time, even reduced it to only 6 points.

Dennis “The Menace” Schroeder, however, took control of Germany’s offense and anchored their ball movement to win the semifinals match and finish the game with 26 points, 12 assist,s and 5 rebounds.

FINAL SCORE: 98 – 86

September 11 2025 – Quarterfinals: Germany vs Slovenia

Slovenia led the match from the 1st frame up until the 3rd but in the final quarter, both teams had a back-and-forth lead change. It took the entire Germany team to finally put an end to Luka’s magic. With 5 of the 10 players scoring double figures for the Germans, the Slovenian wonder boy Luka Doncic efforts were wasted. The LA Lakers star had 39 points, 10 boards and 7 assists, while Franz Wagner scored 20 and Dennis Schroeder had 23 and ultimately the last ticket to the semis.

FINAL SCORE: 99 – 91

September 10 2025 – Quarterfinals: Finland vs Georgia

In a game where history is on the line, the Wolves of Finland rallied in a hard-fought victory. Lauri Markkanen may not have the most bizarre stats at the end of the match, but his teammates stepped up like the 18-year-old Miikka Muurinen, outside shooter Mikael Jantunen who earned the Best Player of the Game award and elite guards Miro Little and Oliver Nkamhoua.

FINAL SCORE: 93 – 79

September 10 2025 – Quarterfinals: Lithuania vs Greece

The Greek God against Lithuania’s Finest, Giannis Antetokounmpo versus Jonas Valanciunas. The newly acquired big man of the Denver Nuggets scored a team high 24 points and 15 points for Lithuania while Milwaukee Bucks superstar had 29 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals a block and the victory for the Hellas of Greece.

FINAL SCORE: 87 – 76

September 9 2025 – Quarterfinals: Turkey vs Poland

Alperen Sengun has taken a leap and his country Turkey, is benefiting from it the most. The Rockets’ big man was phenomenal on both ends of the floor. Despite Poland cutting the big lead of Turkey in the 4th Quarter, 78 – 70, “Baby Jokic” showed everyone that he can be his own player without drawing any comparison as he finishes the game with his 2nd Triple-Double of the tournament.

Turkey clinches a semifinals berth, their 2nd ever in the history of EuroBasket.

FINAL SCORE: 91 – 77

September 7 2025 – Round of 16: Serbia vs Finland

A battle of Europe’s elite bigs didn’t disappoint fans. Denver Nuggets Nikola Jokic did a lot of heavy lifting once again for Serbia while Utah Jazz Lauri Markkanen showcased his improved outside shooting for Finland. The Wolves had an early 10-point lead but the Serbians clawed back to the game to make it a close match all throughout.

But in the end game, the clutch shots of Elias Voltanen helped Finland beat the Serbians as they moved to the quarterfinals.

FINAL SCORE: 92 – 86

September 6 2025 – Round of 16: Lithuania vs Latvia

Kristaps Porzingis of the Atlanta Hawks carried the entire Latvian team on his shoulders as they battled Lithuania. Tingus Pingus gave some life to the Latvian home crowd as they cut the lead in the 3rd quarter but his efforts weren’t enough to get the victory as they exited the tournament.

FINAL SCORE: 88 – 79 

September 6 2025 – Round of 16: Germany vs Portugal

It was an absolute demolition job for the Germans in their Round of 16 match against Portugal. Though the 1st half of action was indeed close with Boston Celtic big man Nemetas Queta of Portugal gave his squad the lead before going into halftime. To end the 3rd frame, Diogo Gameiro cut the lead of Germany to just 1, 52 – 51.

But the Germans led by Dennis Schroeder took masterful control in the final period to get the win and move on to the playoffs.

FINAL SCORE: 85-58

September 6 2025 – Round of 16: Turkey vs Sweden

Alperen Sengun-led Turkey stays perfect in the tournament as they dispatch Sweden to begin the Round of 16. Interestingly, Sweden, all thanks to Miami Heat guard Pelle Larson, took control of the game creating single digit leads from the start until midway to the 3rd quarter. But the defense of Philadelphia Sixers big man, Adem Bona from Turkey, proved to be crucial.

Turkey got the lead before the 3rd quarter ended while in the final frame, both squads exchanged fireworks until the brilliance of Houston Rockets big, Alperen Sengun, in both ends of the floor allowed them to get the win to move on to the quarterfinals and go 6-0.

FINAL SCORE: 85 – 79
