The PVL Reinforced Conference again brought a triple bill at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Tuesday. The Farm Fresh Foxies took on the Capital1 Solar Spikers in the first match, followed by the Choco Mucho Flying Titans facing off with the Nxled Chameleons. A tussle between the Cignal Super Spikers and PLDT High Speed Hitters capped the day off in style.

Farm Fresh Rolls Past Capital1, Notch Third Win in a Row

The Farm Fresh Foxies are off to their best start in franchise history after a hard-fought 25-22, 22-25, 25-21, 25-22 victory over the Capital1 Solar Spikers.

Eli Rousseaux came up big once more in a battle of super imports, firing 36 points on top of 6 excellent digs and some decisive hits in the fourth set. Trisha Tubu and Ces Molina made sure it wasn’t an all-Eli show as they chipped in 13 apiece. Setter Alohi Robins-Hardy, meanwhile, was a picture of calm as she orchestrated the Foxies’ offense and finished with 21 excellent sets to go along with her 9 markers.

Capital1’s Oleksandra Bytsenko wasn’t too shabby either, dropping 26 points to help the Solar Spikers put on a gallant stand. Rookie Bella Belen backstopped Bytsenko with 20 markers of her own on top of 19 excellent digs.

Choco Mucho Blanks Nxled for Big Bounce-Back Win

The Choco Mucho Flying Titans blanked the Nxled Chameleons, 25-23, 25-19, 25-22, to atone for their straight-sets loss to the PLDT High Speed Hitters and strengthen their chances of making it to the next round.

Import Marlee Smith equaled her debut total of 20 points and looked more comfortable leading the Flying Titans—especially in the deciding set when she hit back-to-back crucial shots to hand Choco Mucho a 21-20 lead. Isa Molde provided support with 11 points, while Tia Andaya put up 8 points, 15 excellent sets, and 3 blocks.

Smith’s counterpart, Paola Martinez, fired 20 as well, but the rest of the Chameleons just couldn’t come up with the big hits to overtake Choco Mucho. Lyann de Guzman was Nxled’s next leading scorer with 9 points, followed by Chiara Permentilla’s 8.

Importless Cignal Stuns PLDT

That winning streak is no more.

The Cignal Super Spikers, even without an import, ended the PLDT High Speed Hitters’ 15-match winning streak with a hard-earned 25-17, 25-22, 25-21 victory in a stunning reversal to cap off Tuesday’s day of action.

Erika Santos, Ishie Lalongisip, and Gel Cayuna carried the fight for Cignal with gritty and brilliant performances. Santos led the way with 17 points, while Lalongisip tallied 15. Cayuna added 6 markers and 20 excellent sets as she kept the PLDT defense guessing the whole match.

Cignal’s inspired play helped limit the high-powered PLDT offense, too, with import Nastya Bavykina held to just 10 points and top local Savi Davison limited to only 14.
