Magic Overcome Blazers on Desmond Bane Buzzer-Beater

Desmond Bane hit a 27-foot buzzer-beating triple to lead the Orlando Magic (5-6) to a 115-112 nail-biter over the Portland Trail Blazers (5-5) at Kia Center.

Bane’s game-winner—his lone make in six attempts—came after a 9-0 Portland run down the stretch tied the game at 112. Bane finished with 22 points and 7 assists, while Paolo Banchero scored a team-high 28 points on top of 9 rebounds. Franz Wagner and Wendell Carter Jr. added 19 points and 9 rebounds each.

Shaedon Sharpe led the Blazers with 27 points, while Deni Avdija added 27.

Heat Escape Cavs in OT on Andrew Wiggins’ Last-Gasp Dunk

Set up beautifully on the final possession, Andrew Wiggins scored off an alley-oop dunk at the buzzer in OT to give the Miami Heat (7-4) a wild 140-138 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers (7-4) at Kaseya Center.

Andrew Wiggins finished with 23 for the Heat, who got 33 points from Norm Powell and 22 points, 13 rebounds, and 7 assists off the bench from Jaime Jaquez Jr. Kel’el Ware added 14 points and 20 rebounds for the surprising Heat.

Donovan Mitchell led the Cavs with 28 points, 15 rebounds, and 8 assists while also hitting a triple to tie the game with 0.4 seconds left in OT. De’Andre Hunter added 23 points, while Evan Mobley had 21 points and 10 boards.

Spurs Outlast Bulls Behind Wemby’s Big Game

Victor Wembanyama scored 18 of his 38 points in the fourth quarter to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a come-from-behind 121-117 victory over the Chicago Bulls (6-4) at United Center.

Wembanyama added 12 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 blocks while going 11-for-19 from the field and hitting six triples. De’Aaron Fox and Stephon Castle added 21 and 19, respectively, to help the Spurs win for the first time in Chicago since March 17, 2021.

Kevin Huerter scored 23 points to lead the Bulls, who have now lost three of their last four. Ayo Dosunmu and Tre Jones chipped in 20 apiece.
