It was a modest six-game slate in the NBA on Wednesday, so let’s get right down to the daily notables, including offensive explosions by the Utah Jazz and New York Knicks and a repeat victory by the Philadelphia 76ers against their Eastern Conference rivals, the Boston Celtics.

Jazz Beat Pacers Handily with Offensive Outburst

The Utah Jazz (4-7) torched the nets on Wednesday to beat the Pacers (1-10) handily, 152-128, at Delta Center.

Lauri Markkanen paced eight Jazz players in double figures with 35 on 13-for-19 shooting. Svi Mykhailiuk and Ace Bailey added 20 apiece, Jusuf Nurkić chipped in 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Keyonte George had 10 points and 7 assists. Kyle Filipowski (16), Brice Sensabaugh (16), and Isaiah Collier also finished in double figures coming off the Utah bench.

Pascal Siakam and Andrew Nembhard fired 27 and 25, respectively, for Indiana, which fell behind 70-51 early and couldn’t recover in the second half. With the loss, these Pacers tied the franchise record for worst start ever.

Knicks Defeat Grizzlies as Prolific Offense Continues

Another game, another offensive explosion. The New York Knicks (7-3) scored 42 points in the first quarter en route to a decisive 133-120 triumph over the Memphis Grizzlies (4-8) at Madison Square Garden.

Jalen Brunson led the onslaught with 32 points and 10 assists, while Karl-Anthony Towns had 21 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. Mikal Bridges added 22 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals for the Knicks, who have scored in triple digits every game this season and topped 130 points for the third straight outing.

Jaren Jackson Jr. and Santi Aldama had 19 apiece for the struggling Grizzlies, who have now lost six of their last seven games. Ja Morant added 16 points and 10 assists but was just 4-for-14 from the field and had 8 turnovers.

Sixers Overcome Celtics for Second Win Against Rival This Season

Kelly Oubre Jr. hit the go-ahead basket to help lead the Philadelphia 76ers (7-4) to a 102-100 nail-biter over the Boston Celtics (5-7) at Xfinity Mobile Arena.

Oubre finished with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Justin Edwards came off the bench to fire 22 points for the Sixers, while Tyrese Maxey, the hero of Philly’s opening-day win over the Cs, had 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 9 assists.

Jaylen Brown put up 24 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists for the Celtics, while Derrick White had 18 points and 7 assists. Neemias Queta added 8 points and 10 rebounds but missed what could’ve been a game-tying point-blank follow-up at the buzzer.
