The PBA’s latest season has continued to surprise viewers, with new players stepping up and making a name for themselves. From Rookie of the Year contenders to players quietly posting impressive stats, here’s a closer look at the young talents with great potential to shape the league’s future.

1. Stephen Holt

  • Team: Barangay Ginebra San Miguel
  • Position: Guard
  • Background: Stephen Jeffrey Carino Holt is an American-Filipino professional basketball player for Barangay Ginebra. The 6’4″ guard played college basketball at Saint Mary’s College of California and was later selected first overall in the PBA Season 48 draft by Terrafirma Dyip. In July 2024, he was traded to Barangay Ginebra.

4. RJ Abarrientos

  • Background: Rhon Jay Abarrientos is a Filipino professional point guard for Barangay Ginebra. Before joining the PBA, he played for Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus in the Korean Basketball League and Shinshu Brave Warriors in Japan’s B.League. Abarrientos, the nephew of former PBA MVP Johnny Abarrientos, was the third overall pick in the 2024 PBA Rookie Draft.
