Filipino MMA star Stephen Loman closed 2025 with the promise of a brighter tomorrow awaiting him following his extended absence from the sport.
After having earned the No. 2 spot in the bantamweight MMA rankings of ONE Championship courtesy of three-straight wins to kickstart his campaign, a unanimous decision defeat to former ONE bantamweight MMA king John Lineker halted his momentum back in September 2023.
Since then, fans had not seen Loman strut his stuff inside the circle, and many wondered what had happened to the burgeoning star.
Loman’s Shock Return to BRAVE
The 26-year-old surprised his most ardent supporters this past December when it was announced that he had resigned with BRAVE Combat Federation—the same promotion where he went on a historic run as the longest reigning bantamweight champion.
With a clear path to competition back in his sights, “The Sniper” could not help but be excited for what 2026 holds for his career.
“I am truly excited for 2026 because it guarantees that I will finally be back doing what I love. This opportunity gives me something to look forward to every single day,” he said.
Just a few days after his return to his old stomping grounds was made public, he married his long-term partner, Sheryl, in a graceful ceremony in Baguio City, surrounded by family and close friends.
“I am just thankful that I get to end 2025 on such a hopeful note,” he said. “After everything I went through, this feels like a blessing I will always cherish.”
Loman to Table Honeymoon Plans for Return Bout
Though the newlyweds are looking forward to their well-deserved honeymoon, they have agreed to put those plans on hold as Loman prepares for a potential assignment sometime in July.
“My wife understands the demands of my career, and I am grateful for her support. She has been very patient and encouraging, and that means everything to me,” the Lions Nation MMA product mentioned.
Unwilling to wrestle with regret over lost time in his combat sports career, Loman’s sabbatical from active competition has only made him a more dangerous opponent.
“I am so eager to maximize every opportunity in 2026. I am ready to work, to compete, and to show that I still belong at the top,” he vowed.
