The Galeries Tower Highrisers are signaling a clear shift in direction as they continue preparations for the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2026 All-Filipino Conference, pairing renewed on-court energy with a decisive overhaul of their leadership structure.
In a post shared via Instagram Stories, the Highrisers unveiled their new coaching staff, led by Clarence Esteban and Rommel Abella—two tacticians whose combined experience across professional and collegiate volleyball is expected to play a key role in stabilizing and elevating the franchise.
Bringing Veteran Leadership and Extensive Knowledge

Esteban brings with him a strong background in system-based volleyball, having last served as assistant coach of the now-defunct Chery Tiggo Crossovers. Known for his analytical approach and attention to detail, Esteban has worked closely with veteran players and championship-level systems, giving him insight into game preparation, scouting, and in-game adjustments. For a rebuilding team like Galeries Tower, his ability to develop structure and maximize role players could help establish much-needed consistency.
Abella, on the other hand, adds championship pedigree and authority to the Highrisers’ bench. As the former head coach of the BaliPure Water Defenders, Abella guided the club to multiple titles before the pandemic, building a reputation for disciplined teams that thrived on chemistry, defensive stability, and smart rotations. His presence offers credibility and leadership—qualities crucial for a roster still searching for its identity in the PVL.
Together, Esteban and Abella form a complementary tandem: one focused on modern systems and player development, the other grounded in experience, culture-building, and winning habits. Their partnership signals that Galeries Tower is no longer content with short-term fixes, instead opting for a more deliberate, sustainable rebuild.
A Full Reset for Galeries
Following the announcement, the Highrisers officially parted ways with their previous coaching staff led by Godfrey Okumu, along with several players, including Fen Emnas, Ysa Jimenez, Dimdim Pacres, and Shannen Palec. The departures underscore a full reset, one that prioritizes alignment between management, coaching philosophy, and roster construction.
As the 2026 season draws closer, Galeries Tower continues to balance patience with ambition. With proven leaders now steering the program, the Highrisers are laying the groundwork for long-term competitiveness, hoping that the lessons, systems, and winning culture brought by Esteban and Abella will finally translate into results when it matters most.
