Bella Belen Battles Cramps, Still Sparks Win
After battling cramps and sitting out late in the fourth set, Bella Belen returned with renewed energy in the decider. With the score tied at 6-all, she sparked a crucial run that gave Capital1 an 8-6 edge. Sydney Niego and Ezra Madrigal later delivered key plays to help secure the Solar Spikers’ second win in four games.
“For me, maganda ‘yung pinakita ng team kasi hindi naman madaling kalaban ‘yung Choco Mucho,” Belen said after the victory. “Talagang palaban din sila na team, and kami naman, sabi lang namin gawin namin ‘yung role namin as a player, at kung ano ‘yung game plan namin, kailangan mag-stick lang doon.”
Madrigal and Shaya Adorador added 7 points each, while Pauline Gaston and Ysa Jimenez chipped in 6 apiece in a balanced supporting effort.
Sisi Rondina led the charge with 22 points and 10 excellent receptions for Choco Mucho, which played without injured star Eya Laure. Kat Tolentino contributed 19 points, while team captain Des Cheng tallied 15 points and 14 excellent digs in the loss.
