The PLDT High Speed Hitters moved a step closer to securing a spot in the qualifying round after sweeping the Galeries Tower Highrisers, 25-18, 25-22, 25-17, in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the FilOil Centre on Tuesday, March 10.
Following reminders from the coaching staff, the High Speed Hitters stayed disciplined and relentless throughout the match, refusing to give the Highrisers any momentum.
“Before the game, ang reminders lang, ibigay ‘yung respect sa Galeries kasi lalo nga’t this conference, very capable na ‘yung lineup. Nakita rin naman ‘yung mga upsets nila sa mga ibang teams, so naging game talaga siya about sa discipline na gusto naming i-impose,” said head coach Rald Ricafort.
“Hindi kailangang maglaro ng extra special, kung ano lang talaga ‘yung sistema namin, so happy kami sa run namin and naahabol namin ‘yung mga moments na sila ‘yung lumalamang sa amin.”
PLDT Gets Balanced Effort
Savi Davison led PLDT with 21 points built on 18 attacks, 2 aces, and 1 block, along with 7 excellent receptions. Mika Reyes added 10 points on 4 attacks, 4 blocks, and 2 aces. Alleiah Malaluan, Majoy Baron, and Kianna Dy combined for 22 markers in a balanced effort.
