The Arellano Chiefsquad won their seventh straight NCAA Cheerleading competition title on Thursday, and the architect of that dynastic run, Lucky San Juan, couldn’t have been any prouder.
From Fan to Champion Coach—Seven Times Over
Afterward, Lucky San Juan got introspective as he talked to Rebanse about his journey, his legacy, and the team that made it happen. The first thing he pointed out: He was once just a fan who dreamed big.
Indeed, Arellano’s Lucky San Juan is one of one, the architect of the longest championship reign in NCAA Cheerleading history and now one of the competition’s winningest coaches.
Lucky San Juan Already Looking Forward
Then, when asked to rank the team’s latest golden conquest, San Juan may have just revealed the secret to Arellano’s unprecedented run of consistency and excellence: They don’t get caught up with the winning.
“Ah, paano ba? Wala akong masabi eh,” San Juan said with a huge smile on his face. Talagang back to zero kami.”
No wonder the Chiefsquad have been unbeaten and have looked unbeatable year after year after year. And it all starts with the leadership of Lucky San Juan.
