The Farm Fresh Foxies found a closer—and their composure—right when it mattered most. Behind a late-game turnaround from Royse Tubino, the Foxies held off the Creamline Cool Smashers in a tense four-set battle, 18-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-23, in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday at the Santa Rosa Sports Complex in Laguna.
The win pushed Farm Fresh to 4-4, good for fifth place and right in the thick of the Qualifying Round race, trailing PLDT (7-1), Cignal (6-2), Akari (5-3), and Creamline, which slipped to 5-3 after absorbing rare back-to-back losses. But this one did not come easy. The Foxies had control late in the fourth set, building a 20-16 cushion, only to see it erased by a Creamline surge capped by a Jia de Guzman ace that tied things at 20.
From there, it turned into a pressure-packed exchange. Trisha Tubu briefly steadied Farm Fresh with consecutive hits, but Creamline answered again behind Tots Carlos and capitalized on consecutive errors from Tubino to grab a 23-22 lead—putting the Foxies on the brink of another extended battle.
Royse Tubino Comes Up Clutch
Instead, Royse Tubino flipped the script.
After a service error by Dij Rodriguez handed Farm Fresh a lifeline, Tubino capitalized on a broken play, hammering an overpass to regain control and move the Foxies to match point. Moments later, with Creamline failing to convert on an Alyssa Valdez attack, Tubino delivered the finishing blow—an off-the-block hit that completed her redemption and sealed the win in one hour and 55 minutes.
It was a fitting end for a player who refused to back down, and for a team that is beginning to show maturity in tight moments. Setter Alohi Robins-Hardy’s trust in Tubino never wavered, even after the late miscues, and that decision proved decisive.
Tubu led all scorers with 22 points, while Tubino added a conference-high 18. Riri Meneses and Ces Molina chipped in 10 and eight, respectively, as Farm Fresh imposed its will at the net with 14 blocks, led by six from Meneses and five from Tubu.
Creamline, despite missing head coach Sherwin Meneses and injured hitters Jema Galanza and Bernadette Pons, still pushed hard behind 18 points from Carlos and 14 from Valdez. In the end, though, Farm Fresh’s resolve held firm to notch the all-important win.
