Maco Dabao, a guard from the De La Salle Zobel Junior Archers, has decided to begin his collegiate career with the San Beda Red Lions in the NCAA.

The 19-year-old emerged as one of the brightest young stars in the UAAP Season 88 Boys’ Basketball Tournament, earning a spot on the Mythical Team. The 5-foot-11 guard also helped lead the Junior Archers to a Final Four appearance—an accomplishment his team had not achieved in nine years.

Dabao averaged 17.3 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 2.5 steals per game, and is now set to begin a new chapter of his basketball journey in Mendiola.

Could Maco Dabao Be the Next Great San Beda Guard?

Despite not capturing a championship during his high school career, Dabao could soon find himself competing on the finals stage in the near future.

Fresh off their NCAA Season 101 championship, the Red Lions are preparing to defend their crown with another talented guard joining the roster.

Over the years, San Beda has produced several standout guards, including Jacob Cortez, Agjanti Miller, Nygel Gonzales, and Finals MVPs Bryan Sajonia and James Payosing.

Come NCAA Season 102, head coach Yuri Escueta will have another promising young guard in Maco Dabao to develop as the Red Lions pursue back-to-back championships.
