The PVL All Filipino Conference returned to Metro Manila on Tuesday after a smash hit double-header in Candon, Ilocos Sur. Here is a recap of the action at the PhilSports Arena:

PLDT Takes Solo First, Keeps Capital1 Winless

The PLDT High Speed Hitters kept up their high-speed start to the PVL All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday, disposing of the Capital1 Solar Spikers in straight sets, 25-17, 25-20, 25-17.

PLDT, now at solo first place at 3-0, proved far superior in every fact of the game, outhitting the young Solar Spikers, 48-31, and outblocking them, 11-1, in a match that lasted just 84 minutes.

Sara Davison was spectacular once more for PLDT, scoring a game-high 17 points, while Fiola Ceballos and Dell Palomata added 11 and 9 points, respectively. Ceballos also helped out on defense, contributing 16 digs, to supplement Kath Arado’s 14 excellent digs and 7 receptions.

Heather Guino-o was a lone bright spot for the 0-3 Solar Spikers with 10 markers.

The High Speed Hitters return to action on December 3 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum against the Chery Tiggo Crossovers. Capital1 will go for its first win on November 30 opposite the Nxled Chameleons in a battle of winless teams at the PhilSports Arena.

Chery Tiggo Bounces Back, Trounces Nxled

The Chery Tiggo Crossovers are back in the win column after dominating the Nxled Chameleons, 26-24, 25-15, 25-18.

Cess Robles spearheaded Chery Tiggo’s dominance with 15 points to earn Best Player of the Game honors. Veterans Aby Maraño and Ara Galang provided steady support, chipping in 11 and 8 markers, respectively.

Chiara Permentilla’s 12 points paced the Chameleons, who put up a spirited fight in the first set but just could not keep up with the Crossovers’ stellar play and steely resolve.

With the win, Chery Tiggo improved to 2-1. It will next take on PLDT on December 3 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The loss was Nxled’s third in a row. The Chameleons will look to arrest their skid at the PhilSports Arena on November 30, when they take on Capital1.

PVL All-Filipino Conference Continues to Heat Up

The Zus Coffee Thunderbelles, fresh from their historic first win, will go for back-to-back wins when they face the winless Galeries Tower High Risers on November 28. The second game will see the Cignal HD Spikers stake their 2-0 record against the Choco Mucho Flying Titans. Both games will be played at the PhilSports Arena
