Tin Ubaldo, Ivy Perez Timely Additions to Choco Mucho as Tia Andaya Bids Goodbye to Flying Titans

Over the past few weeks, the Choco Mucho Flying Titans acquired two setters—Tin Ubaldo and Ivy Perez—through the 2026 PVL Draft and free agency. It turns out, adding two more setters to the roster is a wise move after last year’s seventh overall pick, Tia Andaya, decided to leave Choco Mucho.

Andaya announced her decision to leave the Flying Titans on social media, describing her brief playing days in the PVL as “an unforgettable journey” while thanking Choco Mucho fans.

“It truly was an unforgettable journey,” Andaya wrote on Instagram. “The road wasn’t always smooth, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. Thank you all for your support and love these past few years, whether it was with Choco or Alas, it was an honor to play both with and for you all.”

It is unclear what Andaya’s plans are for the foreseeable future, although they certainly will not include a career in the PVL anymore.

Deanna Wong, Alina Bicar to Lead Choco Mucho

Andaya’s departure comes just days after veteran setter Jem Ferrer announced her retirement—coincidentally, after she was released by Choco Mucho. This leaves Deanna Wong and Alina Bicar to headline the Flying Titans’ setter rotation while Ubaldo and Perez look to prove their worth.

Wong, of course, is the Flying Titans’ old reliable at that position, having been with the club since 2020 and proving to be one of the PVL’s best setters in the process. Bicar, on the other hand, is a veteran herself, entering the PVL in 2021. She signed with Choco Mucho in 2025 after the Chery Tiggo Crossovers’ abrupt disbandment.

Joining Wong and Bicar will be Ubaldo, the third overall pick of the recently concluded PVL Draft, and Perez, formerly of the now-disbanded Cignal Super Spikers. Ubaldo comes with glowing credentials as one of the UAAP’s premier setters over the past five years, while Perez is battle-tested.

Together, Wong, Bicar, Ubaldo, and Perez will look to give Dante Alinsunurin a setting crew that will not be missing Tia Andaya at all.
