The Farm Fresh Foxies closed their 2026 PVL On Tour campaign on a high note, outlasting the Capital1 Solar Spikers, 20-25, 25-19, 22-25, 25-12, 15-10, in the tournament’s first five-set match on Saturday at Victorias City Coliseum.
The Foxies rallied from behind twice before taking control in the final two sets, securing back-to-back victories to finish the province-hopping preseason tournament with a 2-1 record.
Farm Fresh will now shift its focus to the PVL Invitational Conference, which opens on August 31 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The Foxies will be joined by the Creamline Cool Smashers, PLDT High Speed Hitters, Nxled Chameleons, Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City, and Thailand’s EST Cola.
“Today’s game was a fantastic game. It was a seesaw battle. We need more practice because we have the Invitational Conference come next week,” said Farm Fresh head coach Koji Tsuzurabara.
Foxies Take Control Late
The Foxies seized momentum in the fourth set, with veteran Ara Galang providing the spark through timely attacks, blocks, and aces as Farm Fresh turned a close contest into a 16-6 advantage.
Capital1 could not recover, sending the match to a deciding fifth set.
Farm Fresh then leaned on another veteran in the final frame. Ces Molina delivered four of the Foxies’ last seven points before Trisha Tubu sealed the two-hour, 28-minute battle with a powerful cross-court hit.
“Isa lang naman din ’yung reminder ni coach sa amin bago mag-warm-up: umuwi nang panalo para pag naglaro kami sa Invitationals, mataas ’yung confidence namin,” said Molina, who finished with 16 points, 17 excellent receptions, and 11 excellent digs.
Stat Leaders
Tubu once again led the Farm Fresh offense with 24 points, while Galang added 14 points on eight attacks, three blocks, and three aces, along with eight digs.
Capital1, meanwhile, finished its On Tour campaign with two losses. The Solar Spikers were originally scheduled to face Creamline on August 8 in Santiago, Isabela, but the match was canceled due to Tropical Depression Maymay.
Shaya Adorador paced Capital1 with 14 points, while Ysa Jimenez and Cherry Nunag added 13 and 11 points, respectively. Rookie Khy Cepada provided a spark with nine points, while Trisha Genesis chipped in seven.
