2026 V‑League Collegiate: Adamson Sweeps Letran, Arellano Survives Benilde

The Adamson Lady Falcons made quick work of the Letran Lady Knighs, 25‑17, 25‑18, 25‑16, to improve to 3‑0 in the 2026 V‑League Collegiate Challenge at Gameville Central Park in Mandaluyong City.

The Lady Falcons controlled the match from the opening set and kept Letran from finding any sustained momentum. Frances Mordi led the way with 17 points, while Lhouriz Tuddao, Princess Dote, and Red Bascon contributed six points apiece.

Adamson maintained its advantage in the third set, with Mordi and Bascon providing timely conversions before Tuddao finished off the sweep with an off‑speed hit.

“Siyempre, we prepared for this game, and I let the players do the work during the game. I’m very happy [with] how they responded and sa ginagawa [nila],” said Adamson head coach JP Yude.

“We’re always thinking na kung sino talaga ang puwede naming magamit, nagagamit. And so far, all of them, kahit sinong i‑pasok, they are contributing,” he added.

Rheina Merwa was the lone Letran player in double figures with 10 points, while Judiel Nitura added seven.

Adamson will go for a fourth straight win against the Benilde Blazers on Sunday, September 6, at 5 p.m. Meanwhile, Letran will face the San Beda Lady Red Lions at 3 p.m. on the same day.

Arellano Survives Benilde in Five Sets

Later in the day, the Arellano Lady Chiefs had to dig deep to preserve its unbeaten record, escaping Benilde Lady Blazers in a five‑set marathon, 19‑25, 25‑17, 34‑32, 16‑25, 15‑7.

The Lady Chiefs survived a grueling third set that stretched to 39 minutes before Benilde bounced back in the fourth to force a deciding frame.

Arellano took control early in the fifth set and held an 11‑7 lead before closing out the match with four straight points. Crisanta Servidad provided the finishing touch from the corner after two hours of action.

“Masayang‑masaya kami and siyempre, top team caliber ng NCAA ang nakalaban namin kanina. Kumbaga, ‘yong effort namin the past few days, nagbunga naman,” said Arellano head coach Obet Javier.

“Ni‑remind ko lang sila kung bakit [sila natalo] sa fourth set … pagdating ng fifth set, sinabihan ko sila na kung gusto niyo manalo, ipagtrabaho niyo ‘yon kasi masasayang,” he added.

Sam Tiratira paced the Lady Chiefs with 13 points, while Servidad and Catherine Chu finished with 12 points apiece.

Arellano will look to make it four straight wins against the Perpetual Help Lady Altas on Saturday, September 5.

Benilde, meanwhile, got 18 points each from Mary Borromeo and Camila Bartolome, while Fionna Innocentes added 16 markers.

The Lady Blazers will try to bounce back against Adamson on Sunday, September 6, at 5 p.m.
