The Golden State Warriors (40-29) pulled away in the clutch and got back into the win column with a 104-93 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks (38-30) on March 19.
Golden State Warriors Top Performers:
Jimmy Butler 24 PTS | 8 REB | 10 AST | 43.6 FPS
Butler’s offensive output had noticeably slowed during a recent three-game stretch, but he has since picked it up, nearly hitting 25 points while also averaging 8 rebounds and 8 assists over his last two games. However, his stat line was held back by a lack of defensive stats and 5 turnovers. Despite that, he has been a consistent contributor since joining the team and became the fastest player in franchise history to record 100 rebounds and 100 assists, achieving the feat in just 17 games.
Draymond Green 3 PTS | 10 REB | 4 BLK | 37.0 FPS
Green has been tremendous on the defensive end lately, racking up 14 stocks over his last two games while maintaining solid rebounding and playmaking numbers. He has elevated his game since the break and is in a great position to keep the momentum going.
Brandin Podziemski 17 PTS | 7 REB | 1 STL | 27.9 FPS
Podziemski missed their last five games with a back problem but made an immediate impact in his return with a strong shooting performance. He’ll likely move to a bench role once Curry returns, but he should still be able to maintain this level of performance.
Quinten Post 14 PTS | 4 REB | 3 AST | 23.3 FPS
Post has seen a limited role lately with the team’s health improving. But he should remain a good contributor for threes and defensive stats.
Buddy Hield 15 PTS | 4 3PM | 6 REB | 23.2 FPS
Hield’s impact has been largely hit-or-miss this month. He has scored 15+ points with good three-point shooting and modest production in another category five times. However, he has also alternated with tough shooting performances and lackluster overall stats in five outings. Still, he should have opportunities to find his rhythm with a manageable schedule ahead
Milwaukee Bucks Top Performers:
Giannis Antetokounmpo 20 PTS | 9 REB | 7 AST | 55.3 FPS
Giannis has scored at least 20 points in his last four games, but his struggles from the field and the free-throw line in three of them have been hard to ignore. Despite that, he’s still making a strong impact in rebounding, playmaking, and defense while committing only two turnovers in his last two games.
Damian Lillard 16 PTS | 3 REB | 4 AST | 29.6 FPS
Lillard has been dealing with a groin issue that might have contributed to the decline in his recent performance. He scored under 20 points in his last two outings, both against Western contenders, while his production in other areas also saw a sharp drop. Their next four games are still against Western contenders, so expectations should be tempered.
Kyle Kuzma 22 PTS | 5 3PM | 2 REB | 26.4 FPS
Kuzma has been in a rough slump lately after scoring in double digits in 13 of his first 14 games with the team. However, he saw a bigger usage today with key players struggling and delivered his best scoring performance yet. Despite this, his fantasy value remains limited due to underwhelming production in other categories.
Brook Lopez 16 PTS | 4 REB | 1 STL | 25.3 FPS
Lopez’s performance on the defensive end has been shaky lately, with lower rebounding value and on-and-off blocking production. However, he has been able to compensate on offense, scoring in double digits in four of his last five games, including two 23-point performances.
Gary Trent Jr. 10 PTS | 1 STL | 1 BLK | 17.2 FPS
Trent continues to be a key part of the rotation from the bench, providing value as a scorer. He has hit three or more threes in four-consecutive games but he couldn’t keep it going today. Still, he reached double figures for the fourth game in a row.
Biggest Disappointment of the Game:
Jonathan Kuminga 10 PTS | 2-10 FG | 2 TO
Kuminga has been operating in limited minutes and has shown some rust since returning after missing 31 games. Despite that, he still managed to score double-digits in four straight games. He will likely remain on the bench but should continue to be a solid contributor, especially if he improves his shooting.
