The Golden State Warriors (47-32) bolstered their playoff positioning after dismantling the Phoenix Suns (35-44) with a lopsided 133-95 victory on April 9.
Golden State Warriors Top Performers:
Stephen Curry 25 PTS | 9 REB | 6 AST | 48.8 FPS
Curry delivered a statement game, showcasing his signature explosiveness in an impressive all-around performance—despite playing only three quarters. He’s been exceptional to start the month, logging two 35+ point outings and a 50-point masterpiece. However, his recent surge faces a major challenge against the Spurs, a team that has surprisingly contained him this season. In two meetings against them, Curry has struggled badly, averaging just 13.5 points on 34.6% shooting from the field and 35.7% from three—well below his usual standards. If the Warriors hope to secure a playoff spot and avoid the play-in tournament, they’ll need their superstar to overcome this hurdle and maintain his red-hot form.
Brandin Podziemski 22 PTS | 5 REB | 3 AST | 33.5 FPS
Podziemski has been on a tear, scoring 19+ points in four consecutive games while emerging as a legitimate perimeter threat— knocking down four or more three-pointers in each contest. He also complemented his scoring with solid rebounding numbers and steady production on defense through steals. That said, he’s set to keep rolling and should comfortably clear 30 fantasy points in the next two games.
Gui Santos 7 PTS | 9 REB | 2 STL | 30.3 FPS
Santos made the most of his extra minutes today, putting up a solid line for the PF position. However, given the team’s depth, it’s unlikely that he will sustain this level of production in their next games.
Jimmy Butler 10 PTS | 3 AST | 2 STL | 22.9 FPS
Butler hasn’t quite looked like his usual self—three of his last four games have been light on scoring, and the rebounds and assists haven’t been there either. But he compensated for it on defense, racking up multiple steals in his last six games and maintaining 30 fantasy points in five of his last seven games. With two advantageous matchups ahead, anticipate Butler returning to form with at least 35+ fantasy point performance in each outing.
Jonathan Kuminga 10 PTS | 3 REB | 3 AST | 16.1 FPS
Kuminga hasn’t been as productive offensively lately, scoring 10 points or fewer in four of his last five games, after a stretch where he scored 15 or more points in five of six outings. The good news is that he is no longer on the injury report, so he should be poised for an uptick in both minutes and production.
Phoenix Suns Top Performers:
Devin Booker 21 PTS | 3 REB | 4 AST | 28.6 FPS
Booker has been exceptional on offense, delivering three straight games with 37+ points while contributing solidly in rebounds and assists. However, his stellar run came to an end today as the Suns suffered their seventh consecutive loss. The team isn’t eliminated just yet, but with the way they’ve been playing, it’s heading in that direction. If that happens, there would be little incentive for Booker to continue pushing for big performances in the remaining games. In fact, he may even sit out the final matchups to rest, opening the door for other players to step up and take on larger roles.
Ryan Dunn 12 PTS | 4 REB | 4 STL | 26.8 FPS
Dunn has emerged as a key part of the rotation since last month, putting up multiple solid performances for the SF position. However, it has been downhill in recent weeks with his struggles in offense. While his offensive game remains a work in progress, he still finds ways to impact the game. With clear motivation to prove he belongs on the team, he should remain productive as both a scorer and rebounder in the final games, potentially putting up around 25 fantasy points.
Collin Gillespie 6 PTS | 4 AST | 3 STL | 23.6 FPS
Gillespie has seen fewer minutes off the bench since Beal rejoined the lineup. He has also struggled offensively, but he has kept himself relevant with contributions in other categories. With his limited role, sustaining this production will be difficult, though he might get a chance to step up in the remaining games.
Nick Richards 4 PTS | 9 REB | 1 BLK | 16.8 FPS
Richards continues to hold onto his starting spot despite a string of subpar performances. He has scored 6 points or fewer in five of his last six games, and his rebounding remains inconsistent. With tough matchups coming up, it’s unlikely his numbers will improve anytime soon. That said, Ighodaro could be a slightly better option at the center position.
Grayson Allen 12 PTS | 2 REB | 1 STL | 16.7 FPS
Grayson has scored in double digits twice in his last three games, despite limited minutes. However, his contributions in other areas remain minimal. His fantasy upside is lower as a reserve, but if the Suns get eliminated from play-in contention, there’s a chance he could see a more significant role in their remaining three games.
Biggest Disappointment of the Game:
Bradley Beal 7 PTS | 4 AST | 1 STL
Beal hasn’t looked the same offensively since returning from a hamstring injury, with his outside shooting notably off. He made up for it on the defensive end with a total of 10 stocks over his last two games but that impact was missing today. With elimination looming, his stats may not see much movement in the remaining games.
