Alas Pilipinas ran out of gas against Indonesia, 19-25, 25-19, 25-21, 22-25, 8-15, in their first game in the second leg of the 2025 SEA Men’s V.League in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Alas Pilipinas led 2-1 before Indonesia showed maturity and grit in set 4 to extend the match to a deciding fifth set. In the last set, Indonesia caught fire early, scoring the first five points of the set. Fahri Putratama and Tedy Syahputra led Indonesia as they built a commanding 9-3 lead.
Hendra Kurniawan had a crucial block on Buds Buddin, and a game-winning service ace by Putratama sealed the deal for the host country. Alas Pilipinas has yet to win against Indonesia since the introduction of the SEA Men’s V.League in 2023.
Indonesia will face Vietnam on July 17 at 8 p.m. (Ph time) while Alas Pilipinas will try to get their first win against Cambodia on July 18 at 5:00 p.m.
Earlier that day, Vietnam made quick work of Cambodia, 23–25, 19–25, 21–25.
Cambodia is set to face the defending champions Thailand on July 17 at 5:00 p.m., while Vietnam will face Indonesia later that day at 8:00 p.m.
