Alas Pilipinas Women’s Volleyball 2025: Full Training Pool and Tournament Schedule

Volleyball never stops in the Philippines as the women’s national team begins its preparations for a busy 2025 season under the guidance of head coach Jorge de Brito.

Team captain Jia Morado continues to lead the squad, composed of players from both the professional and collegiate ranks.

Here’s everything you need to know about Alas Pilipinas Women and their journey this year.

Alas Pilipinas Women’s Training Pool for 2025

The National Team season is in full swing, as several players from the professional league and the collegiate league are participating.

The training pool is bannered by team captain Jia Morado De Guzman, joined by fellow setters Mars Alba, Julia Coronel, Tia Andaya, and Lams Lamina. Liberos are Dawn Catindig, Justine Jazareno, and Jen Nierva.

Also part of the training pool are middle blockers Maddie Madayag, Pangs Panaga, MJ Phillips, Dell Palomata, Fifi Sharma, Thea Gagate, and Clarisse Loresco. Eya Laure, Vanie Gandler, Shaina Nitura, Bella Belen, Leila Cruz, and Leila Cruz comprise the outside and opposite hitters positions.

Alyssa Solomon and Brooke Van Sickle are expected to join the training anytime soon after their respective breaks. Also missing in the training pool are La Salle quartet Angel Canino, Shevana Laput, Amie Provido, and Alleiah Malaluan, who are enjoying their break after a silver-medal finish in the UAAP.

Faith Nisperos and Eli Soyud of the Akari Chargers, Tots Carlos of the Creamline Cool Smashers, and Chai Troncoso of ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles begged off from the national team for several reasons.


2025 Tournament Schedule

AVC Women’s Volleyball Nations Cup 2025: When and Where

When: June 17-24
Where: Hanoi, Vietnam

The Philippine national women’s volleyball team will compete in the 2025 AVC Women’s Volleyball Nations Cup. In the 2024 edition, Alas Pilipinas settled for bronze behind Vietnam and Kazakhstan. Team captain Jia De Guzman won the Best Setter award, while Angel Canino took home the Best Opposite Spiker.


VTV International Cup 2025: When and Where

When: June 28-July 5
Where: Vietnam

Alas Pilipinas will represent the Philippines in the upcoming VTV International Cup. The National University Bulldogs represented the country in 2024, while the Choco Mucho Flying Titans made history in the 2023 edition by placing bronze.


Southeast Asian V. League 2025: When and Where

Week 1
When: August 1-3
Where: Philippines

Week 2
When: August 8-10
Where: Indonesia

In the 2024 edition, the Philippines secured bronze in both weeks. The national team previously placed fourth in 2023.


2025 Southeast Asian Games: When and Where

When: December 9-20
Where: Thailand

Alas Pilipinas will wrap up the year by competing in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games. Since the 2017 edition, the Philippines has narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth in the last four editions.
