Alex Eala will get her 2026 Miami Open campaign rolling against Germany’s Laura Siegemund. This comes after the latter beat Petra Marcinko, 6-4, 6-4, in the Round of 128 on Wednesday morning. Marcinko, incidentally, lost to Eala earlier this year at the ASB Classic in New Zealand.
The Eala versus Siegemund matchup will be the first time the two players will meet, although recent reports say they have been practicing together during the BNP Paribas Open and in the build-up to the Miami Open.
