The EAC Lady Generals looked headed for a winless campaign in the NCAA Season 101 Women’s Volleyball Tournament. That is, until they beat the Lyceum Lady Pirates in the Play-In Tournament and then stunned the Perpetual Help Lady Altas in the quarterfinals. In both games, EAC got a big boost from Ashley Toriado.
With EAC facing a second win-or-go-home scenario, Toriado put up 16 points on 10 blocks to help the Lady Generals live another day—and with a very real chance of completing what would be a stunning turnaround.
Afterward, Ashley Toriado revealed to Rebanse her inspirations as she continues to help EAC try to make history.
Ashley Toriado Believes EAC Is Finally Showing True Form
After going winless in the eliminations, EAC is now riding high with back-to-back wins, and the rookie middle blocker believes the Lady Generals are now starting to show their true form.
Indeed, EAC is playing a lot better now, but Ashley Toriado and the rest of the Lady Generals are adopting a back-to-zero mentality after every win—and it appears that mindset is driving the team forward.
“Ang iniisip lang po namin [is] back to zero, wala po kaming talo, wala po kaming panalo, reset po kami,” she said.
It will be back to zero again for Ashley Toriado and EAC later today when they take on Perpetual again—this time, with the winner moving on to the semis and the loser going home.
