Chef’s Masterpiece: Steph Curry’s brilliant performance versus Orlando Magic

The Golden State Warriors are now the hottest team in the NBA ever since acquiring Miami Heat guard Jimmy Butler. In yesterday’s game, they were tested by the young and talented Orlando Magic.

Little did we know, “Chef Curry” would yet again cook one of his masterpiece performances.

February 27 is “Stephen Curry Day”

Nobody knows why, but it appears that Steph Curry always likes to put on a show whenever the calendar date hits February 27. The Warriors Social Media Manager even solidified this as they posted on X that the 4x champion had done this kind of a special performance in the previous years.

Last Feb 27 2013 versus the New York Knicks, Curry’s statline was:

  • 54 Points
  • 11 3-pointers
  • 18/28 FG
  • 7 assists
  • 6 rebounds
  • 3 steals

Last February 27 2016 versus the Oklahoma City Thunder, it was his vintage game as Mike Breen gave his double “Bang!” with Steph’s game winner as he tallied:

  • 46 points
  • 12 3-pointers
  • 14/24 FG
  • 6 assists
  • 3 rebounds
  • 2 steals

And now, against the 29-31 Orlando Magic, the 36 year old Superstar delivered one of his iconic performances. He recorded:

  • 56 points
  • 12 3-pointers
  • 16/25 FG
  • 3 assists
  • 4 rebounds
  • 3 steals

Another incredible stat that Steph made yesterday is that he now has the most games with 9+ 3-pointers made in NBA history:

45 — Steph Curry

14 — Damian Lillard

12 — Klay Thompson

Fans can now label this date as “Stephen Curry Day” and it’s really exciting what a 37 year old Steph can do on February 27 2026. Perhaps another 50-point performance?

The “Butler Era” Continuous

Jimmy Butler III struggled in this game as he only put up a stat line of 5 points in 1/7 shooting from the field, 4 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 block and only shooting 3-of-4 from the free throw line.

To be honest, his defense was needed more than ever as he tried to limit the production of Magic’s star player, Paolo Banchero. Unironically, Paolo also showed out tonight with 41 points, 16/27 FG shooting, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. Jimmy did the best that he could do but Banchero is just something else. His co-star Franz Wagner also balled out as he had 27 points, 11/22 FG shooting, 2 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.

Luckily, the Warriors came out victorious in yesterday’s game as the Dubs are now 7-1 since Butler III joined the team.

As they are now in a 5 game winning streak and are #7 in the Western Conference Standings with a record of 32-27, which team can stop them now?

Post’s Game is Beyond the Post

Their 7-foot rookie from Netherlands, Quinten Post also made a great performance for the Warriors as he tallied 18 points, 7/9 FG shooting and 5 rebounds all coming off the bench while playing 24 minutes.

He was also 2-of-4 from deep, extending his range from the shaded area allowing his teammates to have multiple looks on the inside.

An Even Tougher Eastern Road Trip

The Dubs will now face Philadelphia 76ers on March 1, Charlotte Hornets on March 3, New York Knicks on March 5 and Brooklyn Nets on March 7 in their next road games.

Some of the teams that they’ll play against may look like an “easy win” but I promise you, there are no teams in the NBA right now that can be easily beaten.
