The NBA is a league of stars and many are more than capable of seizing the spotlight. So forget the established names and predictable picks. Today we’re going against the grain, we’re embracing the young guns, the rising stars who are primed to emerge and become true game-changers. My fantasy team is a roster of potential, a collection of players who have yet to hit their peak but are brimming with talent and drive to prove themselves. And if you’re looking for players that will complement your stars then these would be perfect for you. These names will not just bring reliable production but will ignite your team to new heights. These picks will be the hidden gems, set for breakout performances, that will leave your competition in the dust. Here are the names that stood out for me.

PG: Jaden Ivey, Detroit Pistons (Age: 22)

32.3 MPG | 19.8 PPG | 47.1 FG% | 41.3 3P% | 4.4 RPG | 3.8 APG | 0.3 BPG| 0.9 SPG

Ivey’s role within the Pistons’ offense is rapidly expanding. Detroit’s commitment to developing its young talent means Ivey, a third-year player, is geared for consistent minutes and touches. Already a reliable scoring option, Ivey’s athleticism allows him to attack the basket with ease. He’s made significant growth in his shot-making this season and with more experience, his scoring is expected to get even better. Ivey’s high-energy style of play makes him a threat to put up impressive numbers across multiple categories.

SG: Jalen Suggs, Orlando Magic (Age: 23)

30.1 MPG | 17.3 PPG | 45.7 FG% | 35.6 3P% | 5.3 RPG | 4.6 APG | 1.8 SPG | 1.0 BPG

Jalen Suggs is a gifted scorer poised for a breakout season. He opened the year, boosting his scoring output from last season, where he averaged 12.6 ppg despite the limited touches. Suggs also made substantial strides in efficiency, particularly from beyond the arc, where he nearly doubled his 3-point production last year, compared to his rookie season. His free-throw-making has been impressive as well, hitting 90.6% from the line this year. Suggs also boasts a strong all-around game, he rebounds effectively and shows promise as a playmaker, with room to grow in that area. However, what truly sets him apart is his defensive game, able to rack up steals and blocks every night.

SF: Jalen Williams, Oklahoma City Thunder (Age: 23)

32.0 MPG | 19.6 PPG | 46.6 FG% | 40.9 3P% | 6.8 RPG | 5.3 APG | 2.3 SPG | 0.5 BPG

Williams is a reliable player with a well-rounded game and a high ceiling. He’s coming to his best season, elevating his numbers across the board. He provides steady rebounding and playmaking from the wing, combined with strong defensive instincts that translate into consistent steals. This season, Williams is stepping into an expanded role as the Thunder push for a championship, making his production likely to hold steady.

PF: Evan Mobley, Cleveland Cavaliers (Age: 23)

29.7 MPG | 17.3 PPG | 52.5 FG% | 37.5 3P% | 8.2 RPG | 2.8 APG | 0.8 SPG | 1.9 BPG

Mobley is a rising star with a growing skillset that makes him an exciting fantasy asset.  His defensive impact is undeniable – he’s a force in the paint, protecting the rim and grabbing rebounds. Offensively, Mobley is incredibly efficient, shooting a remarkable 57.9% from the field last season, and his expanding range makes him a threat from both inside and out. He’s also a capable passer,  contributing assists with regularity. With a growing role on a competitive Cavaliers team, his minutes and overall involvement in the game are likely to increase.

C: Alperen Sengun, Houston Rockets (Age: 22)

28.4 MPG | 16.4 PPG | 45.1 FG% | 28.6 3P% | 11.4 RPG | 3.9 APG | 1.1 SPG | 1.3 BPG

Sengun is a talented center capable of consistently posting double-doubles. Sengun is very efficient around the basket, averaging 21.1 ppg last year. But his rebounding took a serious leap from 9.3 in the previous season. He also stands out for his strong playmaking abilities, which is rare for a player in his position. Both his offensive and defensive ratings have improved, reflecting his growing impact on both ends of the floor. While his numbers may have dipped at times due to inconsistent minutes, Sengun remains a player with the potential to deliver impressive fantasy production.
