Five game days into the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference, the Choco Mucho Flying Titans suffered a major setback after star hitter Eya Laure was forced to exit their match against the Creamline Cool Smashers.
Following the Flying Titans’ 25-27, 25-17, 21-25, 15-25 loss, head coach Dante Alinsunurin revealed that Laure sustained both a groin and abdominal strain.
But tomorrow, meron siyang checkup. Hopefully, makabalik siya next game,” Alinsunurin said.
Ill-Timed Eya Laure Injury Another Cause for Concern for Choco Mucho
The Eya Laure injury comes at a critical point in Choco Mucho’s campaign. The Flying Titans opened the conference strong with a straight-sets win over the Akari Chargers on January 31, but have since dropped back-to-back games against the Cignal Super Spikers and the Creamline Cool Smashers.
Those losses exposed gaps on both ends of the floor, issues Alinsunurin and team captain Sisi Rondina believe must be addressed quickly.
Rondina echoed the sentiment, pointing to lapses in execution and focus during crucial stretches.
Choco Mucho looks to stop its two-game skid when it faces the Capital1 Solar Spikers on Tuesday, February 17, at the FilOil Centre in San Juan City, with Laure’s availability still to be determined.
