The Farm Fresh Foxies stunned the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, 21-25, 25-22, 16-25, 25-18, 15-9, in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the FilOil Centre on Tuesday, March 10.
The victory not only halted Farm Fresh’s slide but also snapped its fifth-set curse. Prior to the win, the Foxies were 0-3 in matches that reached a deciding frame this conference.
Trisha Tubu Takes Charge for Farm Fresh
In the fifth set, Trisha Tubu took charge on both ends of the floor, delivering key attacks and shutting down attempts from Sisi Rondina to give Farm Fresh the edge.
“Pang-ilang fifth set na namin ‘to, so always po na laging konti lang. I mean, hindi namin natatapos nang maganda talaga,” Tubu said. “So kanina po, tulad ng sinabi ni coach, hindi Choco Mucho ‘yung kalaban namin. Kalaban niyo ‘yung sarili niyo, utak niyo, puso niyo. So, ang kailangang gawin today is hindi manalo sa Choco [Mucho], kundi manalo sa sarili.”
The Foxies held only a slim 6-5 lead in the deciding set before erupting for a decisive 7-1 run to take control, 13-6. Kat Tolentino briefly stopped the run, but a costly miscommunication between Rondina and Deanna Wong handed Farm Fresh match point, 14-7.
Tolentino saved one point, and Royse Tubino’s error gave Choco Mucho a lifeline. Tubu, however, delivered the finishing blow to secure the upset and seal Farm Fresh’s third win of the conference.
“Always, my team loses in five sets, but today we are very happy. Before the game, I told my players that our opponent was ourselves and not Choco Mucho. This win is ours. This time, we thank the players, and we also want to thank Choco Mucho,” said head coach Koji Tsuzurabara.
Tubu led the Foxies with 22 points built on 16 attacks and 6 blocks. Ces Molina added 17 points, while Tubino chipped in 14, and Riri Meneses contributed 10.
Setter Alohi Robins-Hardy orchestrated the offense with 22 excellent sets, while Maicah Larroza anchored the defense with 14 excellent digs.
For Choco Mucho, Rondina and Tolentino shared the scoring load with 22 points each. Eya Laure added 15 markers in limited minutes on the court.
