September 7 2025 – Round of 16: Serbia vs Finland

A battle of Europe’s elite bigs didn’t disappoint fans. Denver Nuggets Nikola Jokic did a lot of heavy lifting once again for Serbia while Utah Jazz Lauri Markkanen showcased his improved outside shooting for Finland. The Wolves had an early 10-point lead but the Serbians clawed back to the game to make it a close match all throughout.

But in the end game, the clutch shots of Elias Voltanen helped Finland beat the Serbians as they moved to the quarterfinals.

FINAL SCORE: 92 – 86

September 6 2025 – Round of 16: Lithuania vs Latvia

Kristaps Porzingis of the Atlanta Hawks carried the entire Latvian team on his shoulders as they battled Lithuania. Tingus Pingus gave some life to the Latvian home crowd as they cut the lead in the 3rd quarter but his efforts weren’t enough to get the victory as they exited the tournament.

FINAL SCORE: 88 – 79 

September 6 2025 – Round of 16: Germany vs Portugal

It was an absolute demolition job for the Germans in their Round of 16 match against Portugal. Though the 1st half of action was indeed close with Boston Celtic big man Nemetas Queta of Portugal gave his squad the lead before going into halftime. To end the 3rd frame, Diogo Gameiro cut the lead of Germany to just 1, 52 – 51.

But the Germans led by Dennis Schroeder took masterful control in the final period to get the win and move on to the playoffs.

FINAL SCORE: 85-58

September 6 2025 – Round of 16: Turkey vs Sweden

Alperen Sengun-led Turkey stays perfect in the tournament as they dispatch Sweden to begin the Round of 16. Interestingly, Sweden, all thanks to Miami Heat guard Pelle Larson, took control of the game creating single digit leads from the start until midway to the 3rd quarter. But the defense of Philadelphia Sixers big man, Adem Bona from Turkey, proved to be crucial.

Turkey got the lead before the 3rd quarter ended while in the final frame, both squads exchanged fireworks until the brilliance of Houston Rockets big, Alperen Sengun, in both ends of the floor allowed them to get the win to move on to the quarterfinals and go 6-0.

FINAL SCORE: 85 – 79
