If you like me, blink twice!

This is definitely what the fans are waiting to see as the eldest member from Nation’s Girl Group, Bini, is being linked to one of the rookies from Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.

But what’s the real score between Bini Aiah and Caelan Tiongson? And as fans, how should we react to this?

Where it all started, Game 2

During the Game 2 Semifinals of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup, which was held last February 28 at Philsports Arena, a video was uploaded on the internet showing Bini Aiah watching the game.

Fans of Bini were curious as to who the 24-year-old P-Pop artist was supporting in the stands. So blooms (this is what the fans of Bini are called) quickly went to Aiah’s Instagram following list as they found out that she is currently following the 32-year-old rookie of Rain or Shine, Caelan Tiongson.

From then on, a lot has been speculated that the two have met each other in the past and have made a strong connection with one another.

After the Game 3 Semis last March 2 at SMART Araneta Coliseum where ROS had won a game in their match against the TNT Tropang Giga making the series 2-1, the former Strong Group Athletics player was interviewed about the issue.

This is what he had to say:

“I met her [BINI Aiah] through a mutual friend and she’s a great person, but I’m not gonna speak about her personal life anymore than that, she’s a great person and that’s all I gotta say. I love BINI. [I’m a] big Bloom fan, love their music.”

In the other part of the interview, Caelan revealed that he met Aiah through a mutual friend at Favor Church. He also spoke that he has also developed a close friendship with one of the Pastors named James Aiton since 2018 during his Alab Pilipinas stint at the ASEAN Basketball League.

They are Humans, Not Robots

A lot of fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions about this. Some are disappointed while others are perfectly content considering how God-fearing Caelan is.

But the truth of the matter is, we as fans shouldn’t control our idols on who we think is “the one” for them. As someone who also is a fan or Bini and is amazed by the gameplay of Caelan Tiongson, I get that we just want the best for them and we wouldn’t want to see them get hurt emotionally but at the end of the day, these people we look up to are already adults and have a mind of their own. They already know what’s right or wrong and what to do and what shouldn’t be done.

We can share our opinions, show our support, sometimes criticize if they made a mistake, but in the end, we are only “fans”, to some extent we are only “excessive noise”. Let us remind ourselves to respect the decision of these people, as well as be mindful of the words we decide to post on the internet.

Don’t Join The Hype Train

Just because you’re a fan of Bini Aiah since she is rumored to be affiliated with a basketball player, it doesn’t mean you should force yourself into liking Caelan’s game. Same goes the other way around.

People should learn to appreciate separate things. To be honest, if sometime in the future they clear the air and say to the world that they are actually not together, fine by me. I’d still support Tiongson at ROS since I believe he’ll be an integral part of ending their 9-year championship drought. And I’d still be a fan of Bini because I love their music.

Speaking of support, fans of both Caelan Tiongson and Rain or Shine can support them as they try to even their series against TNT into 2 games a piece as they head into Game 4 of their semis matchup later at 7:30 PM at SMART Araneta Coliseum.

Meanwhile, Blooms can stream Bini’s latest single “Blink Twice” and their latest EP entitled “BINIverse” available on all digital music platforms.
