On the second leg of a back-to-back after a gritty win over the Orlando Magic, the Oklahoma City Thunder continued their blazing stretch with a dominant 121-92 blowout over the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday.
Despite not seeing action in the final frame, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s historic streak rolled on, as he notched 20 points in only three quarters of play while shooting a near-perfect 8-for-9 from the field.
As a team, OKC also shot 53% from the field and 40% from long range while never trailing. Today’s win improved the Thunder’s road record to 25-8, the best in the NBA.
Jared McCain Leads OKC’s Offensive Surge
With six Thunder players scoring in double figures, it was newcomer Jared McCain’s 26 points in 29 minutes off the bench that led OKC to its 10th straight victory. McCain was a trade deadline acquisition, with OKC trading only three second-round draft picks and the Houston Rockets’ 2026 first-round selection to acquire the young sharpshooter.
OKC’s suffocating defense also played a pivotal role in the win, as they held Brooklyn to only 11 points in the first quarter and 24 points entering halftime, with the Thunder leading by as much as a whopping 42 points throughout the bout. The Nets’ 24 first-half points are just five shy of the all-time record for the lowest point total in a first half—19 points—set by the Los Angeles Clippers back in 1999.
Nets Continue Woeful Stretch Without Michael Porter Jr.
With the loss, the Nets have now lost their fifth straight and 15 out of the last 17, as their leading scorer, Michael Porter Jr., missed his fourth straight game.
Only four players scored in double figures for Brooklyn, with Jalen Wilson leading the charge with 15 points off the bench. Nolan Traore was the lone double-digit starter with 13.
The Thunder will continue their dominant road trip against the struggling Washington Wizards on Sunday, while the Nets will try to climb out of their losing streak against the New York Knicks on Saturday.
