Jema-Mazing! Creamline’s Jema Galanza Wins Player of the Week Honor in PVL All-Filipino Conference

Jema Galanza has been one of the best, most consistent players of the Creamline Cool Smashers through the years—and it isn’t changing anytime soon. Proof if this unmatched consistency is the Player of the Week plum she earned for unleashing yet another all-around masterclass.

Galanza is the fourth Player of the Week of the PVL All-Filipino Conference following Ivy Lacsina of the Akari Chargers and Jovelyn Gonzaga of the Zus Coffee Thunderbelles, and Trisha Tubu of the Farm Fresh Foxies.

Amazing and Still Looking to Get Better

Galanza, who is also among the PVL’s biggest stars, earned the honor after putting up 24 points, 17 excellent receptions, and 9 excellent digs in the Cool Smashers’ 25-22, 25-20, 30-32, 25-20 win over sister team Choco Mucho Flying Titans in front of a packed crowd at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

That showing against the Flying Titans was pretty much perfect as Galanza added a block and an ace for the Cool Smashers, who are now 16-1 all-time versus Choco Mucho. Jema-Mazing, though, thinks otherwise, pointing out that a flawless performance is yet to come.

“Nagpapasalamat lang ako sa sarili ko na kumapit yung sarili ko ngayong game.  Sabi ko nga kanina, nagsisimula pa lang ‘yung season, so hindi pa ito ‘yung time para ma-feel ko ‘yung perfect ‘yung game ko o flawless ‘yung game ko,” Galanza told reporters after that Choco Mucho match. “Marami pang mangyayari. For sure, mag-a-adjust yung mga kalaban.”

The rest of the PVL will have to adjust, indeed, as the Cool Smashers are hellbent on continuing their run of dominance and add another All-Filipino Conference crown to their already stacked list of championships.

Jema Is in the Zone at Creamline

Unfortunately for the competition, Galanza is in the zone with the only franchise she has ever called home.

“Ako, happy lang naman ako lagi na naglalaro ako sa Creamline kasi siyempre family, ito ‘yung kinalakihan ko ba. Ang tagal ko na, seven years na ito ‘yung comfort zone ko,” Galanza said.

That’s great news for Creamline’s legions of fans and bad news for the rest of the league.
