Jerrick Ahanmisi Already Thinking of Improvements to Make After ‘Okay’ Performance in Win vs. Titan Ultra

For a change, the Terrafirma Dyip opened a conference with a win on Wednesday, routing the Titan Ultra Giant Risers, 112–82, behind a splendid team effort. And at the forefront of it all was Jerrick Ahanmisi, who fired 26 big points on top of 7 assists and 5 steals.

Importantly, Ahanmisi scored 22 of his 26 in the second half, including 17 of Terrafirma’s 37 points in the third quarter, where they broke the game wide open. Needless to say, it was a spectacular performance for one of the stars of PBA All-Star Weekend—but maybe not for Jerrick Ahanmisi himself.

Jerrick Ahanmisi Moving Past ‘Okay’ Performance

For the younger Ahanmisi, his 26-point, 7-assist, and 5-steal performance was just “okay”—and it appears he has already moved past it and is looking forward to getting even better.

“My performance tonight was okay,” Ahanmisi told reporters after Terrafirma’s win. “But I think I always have room for improvement. I always have days where I can progress. Today is one of those days where I have to get back to the film and see where I can get better.”

To be fair to Jerrick Ahanmisi, there’s not a lot to nitpick about his play against Titan Ultra, save for his woefully slow start that saw him be a non-factor in the opening 24 minutes of the game. But once he settled into a rhythm in the third canto, he showed exactly why he’s one of the Dyip’s key players and potential building blocks.

Jerrick Ahanmisi will have a couple of days to watch film, as the Dyip’s next assignment will be on Saturday against the Converge FiberXers at the Ynares Center in Montalban.
