The Letran Lady Knights remained pristine in the NCAA Season 101 women’s volleyball tournament after surviving a tough challenge from the EAC Lady Generals on Friday. The win, Letran’s 10th, didn’t come easy, as the Lady Generals took the Group B leaders to a fifth set.
Afterward, Letran’s Vanessa Sarie shared that the Lady Knights have that bull’s-eye on their backs, as every team would want to break their winning streak and deal them their first loss.
Everyone’s Gunning for Letran, According to Vanessa Sarie
Exhibit A was EAC, which actually got to within a few points of beating Letran.
It’s Always 0-0 Before Every Match
With win after win after win, the challenge for the Lady Knights, it appears, is how to remain motivated. To keep going, the team, according to Vanessa Sarie, keeps in mind something coach Mayeth Carolino always tells them: Forget the record, disregard the standings.
That mindset is clearly paying off, as Letran is the only unbeaten team in the tournament and is already assured of the win-once incentive. It doesn’t mean the Lady Knights are satisfied. According to Sarie, who fired 13 points against EAC, Letran is still looking to improve as the playoffs draw near.
“Every game gusto namin nag-i-improve kami,” concluded Sarie, who pointed out how limiting errors is a point of emphasis as the Lady Knights look toward the playoffs.
