The 2025-26 NBA season has seen some frustrating injuries to key players across all teams. While no one wants to see it happen to any player within the league, others are taking it as an opportunity to shine. With that in mind, here are our waiver wire pickups for Week 8.
Take note, this list is mainly for those playing on Yahoo Fantasy, but it may still be applicable in your leagues.
Danny Wolf, BKN, PF/C
Rostered in 4 percent of Yahoo leagues, Wolf appears to be trending upwards, averaging 14.3 points, six rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 2.8 three-pointers over the last four games. Granted, those numbers came against the Utah Jazz, Chicago Bulls, and Charlotte Hornets, but the rookie is someone you might want to add to your list of end-of-bench guys.
Michael Porter Jr. is the only true superstar in Brooklyn, so there should be opportunities for Wolf this season, especially if Nic Claxton or Noah Clowney miss time.
T.J. McConnell, IND, PG
McConnell has settled into his usual role off the bench, with Andrew Nembhard finally back in rhythm. Still, he has been a productive backup. Over seven games in the last two weeks, he averaged 11.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.7 steals in just 18.6 minutes per game.
If you’re looking for solid steals and assists numbers on the wire, T.J. is your guy.
Daily Fantasy now offers a weekly contest with a prize pool of over 100K, running until December 27.

Pat Spencer, GSW, PG/SG
This was a toss-up since his younger brother, Cam, has also been lighting it up in Memphis, though Cam is more heavily rostered at this point.
With Steph Curry sidelined due to a quad issue, Pat Spencer has stepped up by averaging 17.3 points on high efficiency, 3.7 rebounds, and 5.7 assists, plus around one steal per game. If the other Spencer brother is unavailable, grab this one instead.
Goga Bitadze, ORL, C
Center is the most scarce position in the NBA, and if you are in dire need of one, he is your guy. While his box scores are not explosive, consistency and availability have value.
Averaging 6.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists, his fantasy appeal comes from his 0.7 steals and 1.3 blocks per game.
As long as Wendell Carter Jr. is active, Bitadze will come off the bench, but even then, he remains a steady deeper-league center option.
