Paolo Banchero finally returned to the Orlando Magic lineup, and the former first-overall pick did not disappoint. The former Duke standout was met with iconic WWE Undertaker music by Orlando as a way to welcome his return, however, his highly anticipated comeback and tremendous returning performance were spoiled by the visiting Milwaukee Bucks.
Banchero Returns With a Bang
Ironically, Banchero scored 34 points in his first game back after missing 34 games. He also grabbed 7 rebounds and made 5 of his 8 attempts from three, all in just 27 minutes of play.
The Magic-Bucks matchup was a close game, however, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard exploded and combined for 70 points. The Greek Freak dominated with a 41-point and 14-rebound double-double while Dame Time recorded 29 points.
Despite the loss, great news came to Orlando after learning that both Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner cracked the top 10 in the second round of returning fan votes for the Eastern All-Stars.
Virtually, the Bucks (20-16) and the Magic (22-18) are tied for the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference. Despite the injuries and setbacks, the Magic showed resilience against one of the best teams and best players in the league.
