Nic Claxton also made his presence felt off the bench, with 10 points and 11 rebounds, giving the team an extra boost on the glass and helping to snap their five-game losing streak against Milwaukee.
For the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo turned in yet another astounding performance, racking up 22 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Damian Lillard added 21 but shot a brutal 5-13 from the field including 1-7 from three-point range. Bobby Portis delivered a strong double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, but the Bucks faced back-to-back upsets after a promising start to the season.
Thomas and Schröder Power the Nets to the Win
The Nets ended the first half strong, thanks to Dennis Schröder’s 11 points. Cam Thomas opened the third quarter with 7 points, giving Brooklyn a (65-59) lead. It has been a back-and-forth slugfest since then. But Thomas’s three-pointer pushed the Nets ahead by 5 moving on to the fourth.
The Bucks struck first to open the final frame as Portis triple tightened the score to (83-81). But the Nets fired back with a barrage. Thomas took charge, hitting a critical three-pointer to stretch the lead to (94-85). He quickly followed up with a three-point play, boosting the advantage to (99-85). The Bucks couldn’t find their way back from there. Nic Claxton put the finishing touch on the win with a dunk, pushing the Nets’ lead to their largest at (111-89).
The Bucks are set to clash with Boston on Tuesday, while the Nets will host Denver on Wednesday.
