The Chicago Bulls notched their first win of the season on October 26, after taking down the Milwaukee Bucks 133-122. The Bulls were hot, especially from downtown, hitting 21 threes to keep Milwaukee at bay.
The Bulls were propelled by an explosive performance from Coby White, who drilled 7 triples, vaulting him to third on the Bulls’ all-time list on three-pointers made. White was simply unstoppable for the Bulls as he finished with 35 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals. Zach LaVine added his own milestone, becoming just the second player in franchise history to hit 1,000 threes. He closed out the game with 25 points and 5 rebounds. Newly acquired guard Josh Giddey was brilliant with 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists. Nikola Vucevic rounded out the big night with a reliable 22 points and 10 rebounds.
On the flip side, Giannis Antetokounmpo pioneered the Bucks’ effort with 38 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Damian Lillard continued his stellar play with 28 points and 8 assists.
The early stages were fiercely contested, with Lillard igniting the Bucks for 13 points while LaVine countered with 11. A three-pointer from Pat Connaughton provided the Bucks with some breathing room (32-24). The Bucks held onto their lead in the second, bolstered by a three-pointer from Wright that pushed the score to (49-42). But the Bulls kept the pressure on, as LaVine and White teamed for 34 points to help them stay within striking distance.
Coby White’s Fiery Third Quarter Left the Bucks Reeling
The tension was thick in the third as the score sat tied at 72. But then the Bulls erupted with a relentless 7-0 run. Milwaukee fought hard to stay in the game, but Chicago responded to every challenge. Coby White then took over, drilling two three-pointers to push the lead into double digits.
In the fourth, Green was thrust into the action and made an immediate splash for the Bucks. He drains 2 quick three-pointers to tighten the score to (101-102). But the Bulls fired back with an explosive 13-1 run to seal the game.
