NBA Daily Metrics: Bucks Upend Wolves, Anthony Edwards’ Historic Performance Ends in a Disaster

The Minnesota Timberwolves (46-33) suffered a stunning fourth-quarter collapse, blowing a 24-point advantage to fall 110-103  against the Milwaukee Bucks (45-34) on April 9.

Minnesota Timberwolves Top Performers:

Anthony Edwards 25 PTS | 7 REB | 4 AST | 43.4 FPS

Edwards had a tough time offensively, finishing with more shot attempts than points and struggling from deep, going just 2-for-11 after hitting 5 or more threes in each of his previous three games. The loss also pushed the team dangerously close to the play-in spot with three games remaining. Despite the struggles, Edwards still made history—becoming the franchise’s single-season scoring leader and the third-youngest player in NBA history to reach 9,000 career points, trailing only LeBron James and Kevin Durant. While his recent production has been somewhat erratic, he continues to offer a reliable fantasy floor of around 40 points, maintaining solid value even on off nights.

Naz Reid 17 PTS | 4 REB | 3 AST | 29.3 FPS

Reid’s scoring output has been highly erratic in the past weeks, and his production in multiple areas also followed the same trend, tallying 20 fantasy points in four games prior. But he remains a threat for stronger performances like today, though it’s unlikely he’ll repeat this against the Grizzlies.

Donte DiVincenzo 24 PTS | 3 REB | 2 AST | 27.6 FPS

DiVincenzo recorded his best scoring game in over a month with an impressive 6-for-10 performance from three. While he’s certainly capable of performances like this, it’s unlikely he’ll deliver them consistently,y given the team’s depth. His contributions outside of scoring also remain inconsistent, making him a difficult fantasy option.

Jaden McDaniels 13 PTS | 5 REB | 3 AST | 25.5 FPS

McDaniels hasn’t been as productive lately, scoring in the single digits in five of his last eight games. He also turned in subpar rebounding games in six of his last nine games. Despite the inconsistency, he remains a valuable contributor, particularly with his defensive game. He should also be able to put up 25 fantasy points in their next three games.

Julius Randle 9 PTS | 7 REB | 6 AST | 24.4 FPS

Randle’s scoring output has declined in his last three games after a strong stretch where he posted 25+ points in three straight games. Foul trouble may be to blame, as his usage rate has also dropped during that span. Despite the decline, he remains a solid fantasy asset with his rebounding and playmaking. If he can stay out of foul trouble, he should have no problems reaching 35 fantasy points in their final games.

Milwaukee Bucks Top Performers:

Giannis Antetokounmpo 23 PTS | 13 REB | 10 AST | 59.6 FPS

Giannis missed their previous game with a shoulder problem but came back strong with yet another triple-double–his third-straight. His seven-game 30-point streak ended with a brutal 4-for-11 performance at the line, but his playmaking remained sharp, with 51 assists in his last four outings. This recent stretch has solidified him as a fantasy powerhouse, delivering two games near 70 fantasy points and a monster 90-point outing, all while consistently staying above the 45-point mark.

Kevin Porter Jr. 21 PTS | 5 AST | 5 STL | 45.3 FPS

Porter has taken his game to another level, posting 40+ fantasy points in each of his last three games while scoring 20+ points and also adding solid rebounding and playmaking numbers. He doesn’t always show out defensively, but he brought it out today and was a major factor in the comeback. Despite that, it’s still unlikely that he’ll continue putting up this level of performance regularly. But he should still be a valuable contributor for the PG position.

Bobby Portis 18 PTS | 10 REB | 2 STL | 40.5 FPS

Portis made an immediate impact in his return from a 25-game suspension, recording his 10th double-double of the season while also providing solid defensive impact. He’s been a reliable contributor off the bench throughout the season and a threat for strong offensive performances. With the motivation to make up for lost time, he’s poised to keep producing at least 30 fantasy points in the remaining games.

Brook Lopez 10 PTS | 2 REB | 1 AST | 11.9 FPS

Lopez had a quiet outing today following a strong stretch of recent performances. He’s scored 17+ points in each of his previous four games while also contributing solid rebounding numbers and consistent block production. With Portis now back in the lineup, his production may continue to take a hit. However, he should still be capable of delivering solid value for the C position.

Kyle Kuzma 10 PTS | 4 REB | 3 TO | 11.8 FPS

Kuzma was reliable from mid-March onward, but his inconsistency has crept back in, with two subpar performances in his last three games. Still, he remains a key part of the rotation and should have plenty of opportunities to regain his rhythm down the stretch. That said, he’s a good bet to post at least 25 fantasy points in the remaining games.

Biggest Disappointment of the Game:

Rudy Gobert 6 PTS | 9 REB | 2 AST

Rudy has been on a dominant run, averaging 18.5 rebounds and scoring 19+ points in each of his last four games. Even when his offensive impact declined, he stayed productive with his steady rebounding production. He should also have a much better performance against the Grizzlies and should easily clear 30 fantasy points.
